When I play the Steam version, the game often simply will not update my time on the leaderboard when I set a new time. I have to quit the game out, restart it, and play the level some more before it uploads the time. Then it doesn't show the right picture by my time.

Anyone else have this? This is the first I've heard of it.

It happens to me too, yes. Often.

Yeah, it's pretty common both on XBOX360 and PC, at least for me...

I guess it's somehow related to the save bug many have suffered from. Because of that bug, I usually do not replay a single level until I exit to chapter map and select it again. So far it has helped a lot and my times keep updating fine now. The only problem left is that switching character during a level screws up the leaderboard character icon sometimes. Maybe you need to choose the character as well before entering the level... Meh.

I've never seen it on Xbox. The icon defaults to Meat Boy if you continue playing the level, but it's always uploaded new times for me.

I'm pretty sure it is related to saving a replay. If you save a replay, return to the map before retrying the level. It still did it to me once this way, too. I pressed save twice, though. Try not doing that, maybe?

Oh yeah, the character icon problem has only occurred on PC so far.

I remember saving a replay from one of those runs that messed up the icon but I guess I only saved it once (fingers crossed). Also, I probably switched the character during the run, so that might cause it too.

I'm trying to say that the wrong icon thing happens on xbox often, but it always uploads new times with the correct icon.

Well it did it to me again today when I didn't save the replay. So much for that theory. I have noticed it has not done it to me yet when I choose "Next Level" during the replay. Try that.

Ok, seems like I've completely forgotten about that. It's been a while since I played on 360.

I played a lot yesterday on PC and noticed that choosing next level during replay seems to work like a charm. I'll try to see if it works in all cases.

Mostly (there are exceptions) happens when finishing a level often and fast, dying/changing character when a time is bad helps and exiting to chapter selection screen after getting to goal with bad time helps. Huge time sink and on small levels really inefficient since it's often down to perfect start and you shouldn't be forced to exit to chapter selection from 1-5 second levels, cause it's so random to improve the time in the first place.

Not sure what triggers the map time upload, but perhaps next meat boy finish on the level does that - with meat boy icon on the different character's time naturally.

Nevertheless; irritating bug with bad/time consuming workarounds.

So much for my anecdotal evidence. It did the glitch to me yesterday when I chose next level.

Damn. It couldn't get much more confusing.

Btw, like sp1nzoK wrote above, exiting to world map after every finish is very frustrating and time consuming, but that's actually the only way I've avoided the icon problem, save bug and 0.00 times completely so far. On PC that routine does sometimes crash the whole game, but I guess it happens somehow because I browse the leaderboards after every new record.

Something new happened to me. I've never got these bugs at Cotton Alley until now and that's mainly been the reason I've thought that the problem could be in switching characters during a level... I got wrong icon + time in 7-3x (on the PC version) after the game crashed during save on the replay screen. The time is now 0.29 and character icon shows Ogmo but my local save says the time is 5.80. There's even more, since on the leaderboards, I'm in a place that fits my local save's time...

I seriously hope these false times are cleared from the leaderboards so everyone get legit times for all levels.
