Just a curious question. Who handled the Mac port? Did Tommy program any of it or was it an outside party? Seems some bugs are exclusive to the Mac version, but a few problems are on both versions.

Hi all, quite disappointed with this really, its a worse port than the other mac one and thats not even legit!... i cant seem to get past the CHAD level as well and i've played this on the xbox and PC, the smoothness doesn't seem to be there, and every time i've played it, it gets stuck on the first key... other issues also seem to be as others said, warp zone etc.

I think you guys should've waited bit longer before the release but anyhow hope the information does help address the issues.

EDIT: right ok so i messed around with the settings and went down to ultra low settings, which now seems to allow the CHAD level to run, still not 100% but more than playable...weird because my Mac is more than powerful enough to run this on good settings. still hope it helps someone until a proper fix is out.

Alrighty, set my settings to -ultralow, things are working swimmingly now aside from the easily avoidable crashes.

The rising salt looked odd during the level 3 boss, that's the only new thing I have to report.

Any of you chaps wanna add me as a steam friend? It'd be nice to have people actively playing on my leader board. Right now I have a couple game reviewers on there that never got past more than 20 levels, makes me sad. My steam name is the same as this one.

Any word on an update any time soon? It's been a couple weeks, but I can understand if the team were on holiday. Hopefully soon. I'm getting my new Air on Monday and I was hoping to do some Meat Boy playing in OS X since it's going to be a bear trying to get Windows installed.

using -highdetail solves almost all problems for me, but I have a few left: (Using Lion 10.7.2 on a 2x 3.2 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 10GB RAM:

* I can't save replays. It's hard to read on this resolution but it's [shift] right? When I hit it I see a white meat boy pop up. but it doens't seem to have saved, it's not in my replays. Or is that done in another way??

I found another bug. It appears the leaderboards for Forest 1-10 to 1-20 are broken! Strangely enough I can view all the other leaderboards just fine. I checked dark Forest & hospital. In those chapters all levels seem to work fine. Only from level 1-10 upwards it's showing either the wrong times or no times at all...

I bought the game a looooonnng time ago (1 year ago when it was 6€ on steam) because I know there would be a Mac version, now here it is and...It doesn't even start !

I keep getting the "Preparing to launch Super Meat Boy" window on Steam, then it tries to launch, then it crashes, and it re-tries to launch, etc…

I'm on a 24" iMac on 10.7.2 with 2,4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (the game runs fine on Windows with Bootcamp so I don't see why it would be a configuration problem). I did try to reinstall it like 5 times, waited and installed the last update, and still not working, I honestly don't see what tp do :-/

I tried to launch the .app itself without steam and got the details about the crash and uploaded them here, don't know if this can help in someways, but here it is anyway http://pastie.org/private/zwdzqifbl1ivy64uhstiza

Thanks in advance !

1. iam experiencing aspect ratio issues.
when switching the resolution to 1920x1080 fullscreen on a 16:10 display with a native resolution of 1920x1200 smb tends to fit the image to the larger resolution. this results in a vertical distortion of the image.
will there be a letterbox fix for other aspect ratios than 16:9 like in the windows version?

2. and i got the same keymapping issues with the wired 360 controller using the tattiebogle drivers...

thx in advance!

About the replays. The files are indeed there in the userdata folder, within the app bundle, they just don't show up in the replay menu.

Here is my problem:

The game starts, shows the window with the "use a gamepad hint" and plays music. The image fades out and only spinning gear stays on the screen. That is all.

Here is what the game prints when starting via command line.

The case sensitive file system should not be problem. Even if I start it via case-insensitive sparse bundle I didn't get the game running.

Works fine for me, however, I have launched it on Steam previously. Let me try and organize this.

Mac version:
 - Have played on Steam
 - DRM free version works
 - Noticed that it references the userdata in the version installed in steam.
 - Copied the userdata out of that version, pasted it into the app bundle for the DRM free version, "deleted the local content" for the steam version, game runs fine with all save data intact.

Windows version:
 - Do not have Steam Installed at all.
 - Launch game, shows controller, then black screen with gear spinning.
 - After waiting about five minutes there's an SQL error message and the game continues.
 - The same thing happens every time.

So, I think the problem is that the game tries to reference Steam somehow, when it shouldn't.

There are so many problems with this game, its really disheartening, and I'm really worried that the Mac port is finished as far as they're concerned.

I solved the Problem. The game tries to connect to SomeIP:3306 but I was behind a proxy and the connection was opened but didn't respond. So the game was hanging. I'm really sad, that Team Meat make such a good game but such a lousy application.

Wow, the port is really terrible. I can't even play the game ! The graphics won't display.
I have an iMac from 2009:
- Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz
- 4 GB RAM
- 256 MB VRAM (Geforce 9400M)
- OS X 10.6.8

When launching the game using the Terminal, I saw an error from jack server not being found. But jack is an audio server, it shouldn't have anything to do with graphics ! The sounds and music play correctly.
If I change the focus to another application and come back to SMB, the display is refreshed once, but I have to switch constantly to display every single frame.

EDIT: Okay, windowed (activated by default) doesn't work. I tried to force fullscreen with the -fullscreen option, and the game seems to work now.

I bought SMB together with humble bundle yesterday, and I found a pretty major bug today.

using a 15 inch 2011 MacBook pro

In the salt factory boss, when I get to the very top, nothing happens. Meat boy and brownie both just stand there and stare at each other as the salt disappears. Also, the graphical glitch with the rising salt looking weird also happened to me.
