Greetings Meat Heads!

I'll give it to you straight. I'm in a college game design course and we're building an extreme Platformer that is badly in need of Beta testers. Our master plan is to release it on X-Box Indie Games by the end of the year. This game was made by college students with severely limited class time, so theres still quite a few bugs to work out ASAP. Consider this SMB's slightly disabled bastard offspring. At least it doesn't involve avatars or massagers for God's sakes!

Right now we have the beta up and running for PC (Sorry Apple lovers). You can check it out at http://testing.hoosiergames.com/PFH.html

We hope you enjoy "Platformer From Hell" and please fill out the short survey on the download page to help is get this thing moving in the right direction.

P.S. I really didn't come here just to plug this beta. I've unlocked The Kid, beaten light and dark world, collected every bandage, and Aced everything through to Cotton Alley-4 Letter Word. So I'm not a total tool.

Ill try it tomorrow and share my thoughts.

Im one of the few people that get every single achievement of the SMB PC version and platforms is one of my favourites genre, so I hope that could help.

Everything helps, my friend. Thank you very very much. Happy Thanksgiving!

P.S. In the time since my first post I've gotten Golden God! All that's left is to ace one of the dark world cotton alleys and get that damn minus world in "The End" before I tackle Teh Internets.

I tried it and... well... theres some stuff wrong about the gameplay.

Run and jump needs to get better, really.

For example, the game forces you to keep pressing the run button all the time. Not running makes you completly useless. What Im trying to say is that theres no reason to just walk. Also, if you hold the run button and jump, you will get the high jump with no need of moving. Its like... running its just walking 1,5: you walk faster and jump higher, just that.

Also, try this on your game: make a big jump and go to the left, but changes the direction of your movement to the right. Do it sometimes. Now, do it on SMB. Notice the difference about how it reacts when you change the direction on air.

And I dont see a logical increase of difficulty.

Sorry if my english is hard to understand.

I understand it perfectly actually. I totally understand what you're saying. In fact this echoes a lot of what we've been hearing. The physics engine needs a lot of work still and most of these levels are in the very early stages of development so that's why there's such a difficulty disparity among other major issues. Your notes won't go unnoticed by the dev team, so thank you very very much.

Pardon the double post. I just wanted to let everyone know that we've just put up a new version with quite a few improvements:

-Touch sensitive jumping and progressive sprint speed
-Various new art and animation
-Improved hit map detection (especially in World 4)
-Levels re-designed for a more progressive difficulty

We still have several known issues (the most apparent will be the fact that some platforms will occasionally disappear for no apparent reason), but it's definitely getting there. Please check it out and let us know what you think. Thanks guys!
