We got an update. Yay! Thanks guys. So now there is a controller config file in the 'install directory' as steam puts it. This is actually buried in the app bundle which is in turn, buried in your library folder. Like thus:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/super meat boy/SuperMeatBoy.app/Contents/MacOS/buttonmap.cfg

So I open that and this is what I get:

Code:
keyboard
{
up="up";
down="down";
left="left";
right="right";
jump="space";
special="shift";
}

gamepad
{
jump="1";
special="3";
useanalog="true";
}

My question. How do I add extra entries for all of the other buttons that are used on a standard 360 pad? ie. - LT, RT, Y, B, etc
To be more clear, I know I have to figure out the button number I wish to assign a command to, but what are the full list of commands called? In addition to jump and special.

I can't seem to get the controller config file to change anything ... using the Xbox 360 Wired Controller "A" is gamepad down, and "B" is gamepad left, no matter what I change in the config file ... and the game is totally unplayable with the most ubiquitous controller on the market.

Just curious what controller you guys tested the game with? Is there a controller that works?

Because as the splash screen says, a keyboard is inadequate.

And is there a config file that will map the 360 controller buttons properly?

That's weird.

Are you trying to use the D-pad or the analog stick? If its the d-pad, maybe try setting analog to false *shrug*

As for me, I'm successfully controlling the game with a Wiimote. I use a small program called WiiJi to connect the remote to my laptop using bluetooth. Basically, this turns the Wii remote into a standard HID compliant joystick. Its perfect for gameplay. 1 is run and 2 is jump.

The reason I posted here is because I'd like to use other buttons on the controller to save replays, swap between light and dark worlds, and scroll the leader boards. With an HID controller plugged in, you get the 360 button prompts, but you're forced to use the keyboard. That's why I'd like to map all buttons.

There is the option to map my controller to keyboard buttons, but then I have to jump through hoops by connecting my controller after launching the game, to ensure that it doesn't register the joystick, and then I'm stuck with the keyboard button prompts, which are unreadable.

I have a wireless Xbox 360 controller with tattiebogle drivers installed.

I was playing around with the cfg file and I found that pressing A to jump started working when I entered in button 10 for it and button 9 for special. Having analog on or off in the CFG File makes no different for movement but using the analog stick in the menus works. Also either way I seem to have to use down on the d-pad to select stuff in the menus and RB seems to be pause.

Also I'm not sure special is working but since I can't move my character I can't really test it with the gamepad anyway.

Everything should be redefinable although I'm not sure how the axis would work seeing as it seems to view the gamepad completely wrong.

I also have a logitech controller and apparently it works better with that.
