It seems there's some sort of a glitch with him, and the game just has a large chance to crash when you finish a level with Minecraft Steve... it would be fun to experiment with him, but at the moment it's barely worth even trying thanks to those crashes.

So, is there something I can do to make using him cause less crashes?

The only way I know is not to play as him, I get the crashes too, so I pretty much gave up on Steve.
