I just got the game, accidentally skipped the tutorials, but managed A-Plus most of the forest, and to reach it to the first boss, and won (Without Shift). Right after, my brother walks over to me, and tells me I can hold shift to make myself run faster... I almost cried...

Finally, someone who had the same experience as me! I was completely oblivious to sprinting until I learned somehow later on in chapter 2 or 3 (can't remember, it was a while ago), so I found 1-3 impossible and had to beat it with Commander Video. Man do I feel stupid when I introduce the game to my friends and they learn the sprinting mechanic immediately...
