I bought the Humble Bundle V, and I didn't download this off Steam. The game keeps giving me a Microsoft Runtime C++ Library error. Is there any way I can get it to work?

There are no fixes for that Runtime Error in the stickies. I should probably dig around the old threads and correct this.

For now though, Verify the Integrity of the Game Cache, and if that doesn't fix it re-install DirectX.

How can I verify the Integrity of the Game's Cache when I didn't download it off Steam?

I tried the direct download and had the same problem. I deleted the game and all associated files and downloaded via Steam and I'm still having the same problem as you guys. I tried verifying the integrity of the game cache and reinstalling Direct X and that hasn't fixed the problem either.

I have the same problem. I bought the game with Humble Bundle (I bought the bundle mainly for SMB).Downloaded and installed it ,but when i try to start it ,it gives me :

I would be really grateful if someone help me and other users who have the same problem.

Seadawg may have, as well as other Humble Bundle purchasers reading this thread who used the steam key.

Anyways, forgot to mention updating your drivers, but please note that these are not guaranteed fixes and I still need to look through the old threads for something more definite.

About the drivers , I installed new version of AMD catalyst few weeks ago.Now I'm reinstalling steam because I had problems with other games of the bundle too.(I know the SMB problem wasn't in steam ,but still have to try ...)

That worked! .When you start the game the desktop resolution is changing to the lower res ,but a sec after that it's returning to the resolution that you choosed in the game menu.Thanks for the help!
