Xbox startup crash

Yo.

I just downloaded SMB after watching the great Indie Game: The Movie-documentary, and I played through the first stage until I got to The Hospital.

I quit the game then, and now when I tried to launch the game it just crashes on the first screen which says XBOX LIVE ARCADE. I can't do anything on that screen, the only thing that works is to turn the console off and on again.

I've tried:

1) Deleting the game + savefile
2) Redownloading the game from the Download History page

But the same thing happens when I launch the game.

I tried searching this forum and elsewhere but came up with diddley.
