I'm on the last boss, and it's been kicking my butt causing me to have to to exit the game and come back frequently.

It's because of this that I've come to notice the various slogans at the beginning of the game, which have an image of a 360 controllers and under it phrases that include:

"First person who says keyboard controls are better than a gamepad gets shot in the face"

I mean, I realize it's supposed to be humorous by taking it to the extreme.. but really? Really?!

I'm a hardcore PC gamer, and I've been playing with a keyboard for roughly 18 years (I'm 23), and I've never thought very highly of gamepads in terms of accuracy.

I used to play the earlier Pokemon games in an emulator at 10x the game's default speed, and the ONLY way I was able to navigate the world without hitting every corner was with my PS/2 keyboard.

I actually tried mapping the keys to my PS2 controller once.. and it was a disaster. I wanted to be able to play while sitting on the couch.. but it prove to be a no-go.

Now, I admit, I haven't played Super Meat Boy with a gamepad, but it's certainly less challenging than a game at 10x its original speed, and I SERIOUSLY doubt I'd prefer a gamepad.

But that's not my point. If you prefer a gamepad.. that's awesome. I in no way think that my method of playing is "superior".. only that it works better for me.

Which is why I'm against this anti-keyboard slur. Not only is it ignorant (in my opinion), but it's hateful and negative.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to get that off my chest.

The Xbox 360 controller D-pad actually sucks (compared to those of good gamepads).
I think most people play with the analog stick due to habit, but that actually isn't fit to this game, which only supports digital. Analog for SMB (and most "digital-only" games) is relatively slow and isn't perfectly precise.

That only goes to further my argument about the hateful slogans at the beginning of the game.

I actually mainly use the D-pad on the 360 controller (although now I've moved onto the MLG controller).  Even though it sucks compared to god-like D-pads like the Saturn Model 2, for SMB it's fine due to simple left/right inputs.  Diagonals switches are really where the 360 D-pad falls apart.

I'm an only keyboard gamer, but I find those to be funny (like the "spoiler gamepad wins" one).  I think they're intended to be jokes, I'm pretty sure Edmund has said that he put that screen in because the game was originally for the controller.

It's only funny if he DOESN'T actually believe that gamepads win, and I don't believe that that is the case.
