Sonic 2 is one of my favorite games ever, maybe even top 10.

Ristar was a great quirky game and a pleasant surprise in the Sonic collection

Sonic 3 + Knuckles is overrated and not all that good (in my opinion, I don't wanna start a fight)

Sonic Adventure 2 is fun despite its problems

Echo was pretty cool, but not my cup of tea

Golden Axe was a lot of fun when I was younger, but there are better games in the genre out there

Sega sucks dick now.

There's a quick summary of my Sega knowledge.  I've always been a bigger Nintendo guy, so I was legally required to hate Sega.  Sonic 2 was like my little Jewish boy hiding in the attic of my house

I Civilly disagree. 2 gets WAYYY more hype than 3.

Here are the points that are stronger about 3:

-Better Soundtrack
-Longer Levels
-Slightly More Involved Plot
-Better Level Design(Multiple Pathways)
-Character specials DONE CORRECTLY.
-The music in Flying Battery Zone makes me orgasm.

See you just pointed out all the reasons I dislike Sonic 3
-Weak soundtrack
-Levels are too long and there are too many of them (I like sitting down and beating Sonic 2)
-Plot doesn't matter either way
-I personally thought the level design was very weak and too gimmicky
-Character Specials were pretty neat, no denying that
-Green Hill Zone is better than the entirety of Sonic 2, 3, and Knuckles soundtracks combined  Meat Boy

I don't want to go too off topic though, and I'm not sure if we are doing that right now.  I guess its still Sega related, so respond as you see fit

The soundtrack of every Sonic game is among the best in video gaming, in my opinion (except for Sonic 4, because they even found a way to mess THAT up  ), so I think you both can argue that each soundtrack is better than the other and get basically nowhere.
Has anyone played the compilation for DS?  It's really fun.   Meat Boy

I think this is probably fair to say.  My favorite is Sonic 2, but that's only because I grew up on it.  I'm sure if I played a lot of Sonic 3 when I was younger I'd like that music more (I didn't, since I didn't like it back then either).

Honestly though, me not liking a game that is beloved by all should always be taken with a grain of salt.  Here are some other opinions I have that may make people gasp in disbelief:

Castlevania II > Castlevania III (IV beats them both by a mile though)
Majora's Mask > Ocarina (Not as strange)
Pretty much any decent game > Mother Franchise
Mega Man 4 > Mega Man 2+3
Final Fantasy blows with the exception of the first one

Just throwing that out there.  My tastes in games can be pretty different, and any time I state them I'm just sharing my opinion, not trying to start trouble  Meat Boy

Ughh I can name plenty of reasons as to why 4 was not as MMII.

I agree with pretty much everything else. I mean Mother is Great but is it really as a complete of a game as Chrono Trigger?

Ha ha.  Like I said, just my preference.  My first Mega Man game was Mega Man IV on the Gameboy, so that's where that bias came from.  I also have a deep hatred for Mega Man 2's Dr. Wily Stages due to the energy farming that is required if you mess up, but Mega Man is great in general (well 1-6, 9+10 and X1-3 anyways  Meat Boy)

I really don't like Mother at all.  I've tried really hard too, just because so many people love it and I'd love to experience what other people see in it (I'm the same way with Secret of Mana).  There is no denying that Chrono Trigger is great though  Meat Boy.

Would now be a bad time to point out that its "FIRE" not "FLAME" type?

Sorry, that's my Pokemon Master side.  I honestly laughed out loud and appreciate the defense.  In fact, if you were a Pokemon you'd be a Shuckle, since you have a absurdly high Defense stat
