I for one will be skipping over Nintendo's new 3DS handheld and going for an NGP (PSP2). What about all of you?

For hardware specs, see here.
For pics, see here.
There are also some videos in news posts here.

Neither.  Gimmicks and poor triple A developers are the only thing that's left in the console industry it seems.  It's really a disappointment.

Not incredibly interested.  The only thing it really has over the 3DS in my opinion is 3G support, but I have an iPhone for social connection and gaming, so I think I'll still grab the 3DS.  And Ocarina of Time 3D.  /psyched

Hasn't that game been ported at least 5 times now?

I've played through it twice, but I think it's been ported twice (Master Quest and the large collection for Gamecube), not counting Virtual Console simply because that's an emulation and not a port.
I'm totally willing to play that masterpiece of a game again, though.  :D

Hey man, your Nintendo rant thread is closed. Don't bring it to the rest of the forum.

But to stay on topic, I probably won't buy either. If I really had that much money to spend willy-nilly, I'd buy something else, like an upgrade for my PC or 50 Bandage Girl plushies.

It's funny because he rage-closed his own Nintendo-bashing thread, but only after getting the last word in before locking it.

You're spot-on on the spending money on something else, though. If the unit is 300 or less, I'll but it, but if it's any more, I may as well use that money towards a new laptop or desktop PC.

For the same reason, I can't justify buying a 3DS at any price. Marginal graphics upgrade over the DS, with a gimmicky 3D effect which hasn't been thoroughly researched and makes some people nauseous.

Despite the depressing battery life I'll be getting the 3DS, if only for レイトン教授 VS 逆転裁判 and Professor Layton 5. Unfortunately the thing's region-locked, so I'll be facing the tough decision of suffering through importing everything (ugggghhh) or having to play everything in English.

PSP2 looks okay, I suppose, but there was very little in the PSP line of games that interested me and the same is looking true for the PSP2. Plus it's seriously way too big for my liking.

I second this.

I also second this.

Neither of these two consoles seem to really tickle my fancy, and it's kind of a shame. We need a really good pocket console, like, a REALLY good one. So how about it, Microsoft?

3DS for now, but I could see myself getting an NGP in a couple of years, when there's a bunch of second hand ones floating around.

I would have gone straight for the NGP, if it didn't just look like a straight upgrade of the PSP. It's still too big for my pockets.

Still 3ds.

The NGP looks good but until they figure out how to make the fucking battery life longer than two hours, it will have the same fate as a certain Other Failed Handheld

Neither for now, but once either:
A) The 3DS's library starts to look enticing
or
B) The 3DS gets a new iteration with better battery life/3rd party battery pack that gets good reviews/new iteration with lefty friendly design
