One of Nintendo's last good franchises, and the Meat Boy of TBS games.

I've beaten the crap out of every single one of those games.  They're all amazing, even Days of Ruin, which was surprisingly good despite changing so many things in the Advance Wars formula.

The only problem with those games is that the COs aren't terribly well-balanced.  I always went with Grit, because extra range on artillery is just broken and silly.

I find that the later that you go within the franchise, the more unbalanced it becomes.  However, there is admittance to the fact that Max, Grit and Eagle break the first game in half easily.

I played the first one.
A bit.
My older brother was the Advance Wars fan, really.

However, has anyone here played Batallion Wars? It's a Third Person Shooter Advance Wars spinoff.
It's basically Advance Wars, but in real time and you have to shoot your enemies.
Not sure if it's better or not than Advance Wars games since, well, I haven't played much of the Advanced Wars series

Despite my username, I'm not really a Sonic fan. The name just stuck from when I was one. If I want fast action nowadays I just play Meat Boy. Or chase my cat. Sneaky little devil she is.

I'm an AW fanboy.

I've competed in tournaments for Dual Strike, although the community for DoR died before i could get involved( which sucked because wifi would have meant no travelling)

It's a great series, and I hope they make one for the 3ds.

I actually faced off against the world champ when he and I were chatting in an IRC.  I didn't even know he was world champ until I found a Youtube video of him.

Gipface, wasn't it?  Oh well.

The AWDoR community died off due to lack of support which was well needed for any community to survive.

Also, if IS stopped localizing Fire Emblem, I see no hope for another AW either.

I always thought Advance Wars 2 was the most balanced of the games.  Dual Strike had some broken CO team compositions (Sami/Eagle comes immediately to mind, but I know there are others that are worse), and in DoR Isabella and Tabitha were stupid OP, and that's not even counting Caulder.

By the way, my name in every game is from this series, in case you haven't noticed.   Meat Boy  Lord Sturm is just a badass in the first two games.

Tabitha is like a mini-sturm.  However, due to a glitch in the game's code, she cannot recieve her CO power meter boost during the enemy's turn, it seems.

Loved AW1, AW2 and Dual Strike, but I couldn't really get into the newer others. They felt different imo. I might try it again later.
