The things in the Rapture Light/Dark world that also show up in the Cotton Alley.
They push you away with a force inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the player and themselves.
But what exactly are they? Post what you think they are (reasoning would be good)...

gravity orbs since they can both suck and blow you away based on the engines gravity variable. in devmode you can indeed set them to pull inwards instead of the default push outwards they have in the normal game

Hate to break it to ya, but gravity does not entail repelling other objects. Nice try though. Realism And they certainly aren't magnets, because how would that repel our non-metal friends...unless they've got metal in them

I remember a tweet from SMB stating that initially those orbs were only meant to suck the player in, but it was (obviously) changed during the process. It's great that these discarded/unused things are still included in the editor, can't wait to see what people come up with it. Too bad I pretty much hate those things.

Agreed. The Cotton Alley levels with those sucked so bad.

They are orbs that shoot out pure energy that has enough force to push the character away. PURE ENERGY!
The ones in devmode take in and shoot out this PURE ENERGY!
