Nah.

They said it's be a standalone executable anyway.

I can imagine achievements related to created levels being plausible, but not for creating the levels themselves.

Yeah, agree with others.

But... I do think it would be nice to have some kind of monthly/yearly awards or something for best levels on different key areas. It would be great if people could vote for things like level of the month, chapter of the month, character specific chapter of the month, best design, best challenge and so on.

I don't have much ideas for the rules though. Maybe all willing members of this community could sing up to participate in different key areas at fixed periods. There would probably be a maximum limit of participients for every area. Participating members could decide the level/chapter they want to be judged and after the final deadline of preparations all members would finally have the freedom to vote. After voting the winners of every distinct area would get their names up on a hall of fame and a virtual trophy in form of a meaty icon or something to be put under their signatures on these forums.

Anyone interested in this kind of routine?

Shlong Maker: Make one custom map
First Map: Make two custom maps
Map Master: Make ten custom maps
Addict: Make one hundred custom maps
Pro Map Maker: Make a map that reaches five stars funness
Monster Map Maker: Make a map that reaches five stars difficulty
Look, I'm Edmund!: Make a full 20 level chapter

Naw, I don't like the idea.  Achievements for playing the portal on the other hand....

Can't say I like the idea. One thing I like about the achievements is with the exception of the Tofu Boy one they all require some level of skill (even if some of them barely require a pulse). Also, linking achievements to making custom maps will more than likely lead to there being a lot of crappy maps on the portal that people will have to waste their time playing and voting 1 so they don't show up again.

What about achievements bound to the Team Meat chapters?
Examples:
Beat the Viridian chapter
Beat The Kid's chapter
Beat Meat Boy Remix chapter

and maybe even
Beat a "enter the unknown" with difficulty set to max

I want to get more SBM Achievements because the no death ones are so hard to get. Also if they had achievements for the editor I think it would get more people to try it out. As previously stated this could be a bad thing, but my thought is if this gets people to use the editor I wouldn't mind 1 good map for 10 bad ones because if there isn't that achievement there, there may be ideas that never see the light of day  . I think it would be worth all the wrongly motivated maps  !

There also should be achievements for giving feedback on maps (They should make the number of ratings required obnoxiously high!), this would insure that people don't skip the rating system (if it is even skip-able). This would benefit the rating system greatly.

And there should be an achievement for surviving the unknown ! Also an achievement for playing a custom level for each and every character would be nice .

MegaMew I love your "Look, I'm Edmund!" achievement and sh00takai I really like your idea.

I think the achievement would look more like " make 10 maps in the shape of male genitals"

Most stand alone updates that add content get achievements so I think its fairly likely that SMB wil too!

Achievements would make people feel obliged to create levels, even if they're really bad at it.
