I've just downloaded an update when loading up SMB on the Xbox a minute ago. Anyone know what it's supposed to fix? It seems to have reduced my number of collected bandages but fortunately only on the earlier levels.

Supposedly, everything.

More importantly, they were waiting on the update before posting new teh internets chapters.  They're not up yet though...

Alien Hominid glitch is out, Spelunky glitch is out, Pink Knight glitch is still in, Tim glitch  is still in. Meat Ninja appears to be out.

Percentage completed on the chapter select screen is fixed. My total bandages are showing 100--used to be 101--though the icon for the Cotton Alley bandage is still showing up on the chapter select screen.

So far, leaderboard times seem unaffected.

Now I'm getting strange stuff with the leaderboards--I thought the update might allow me to go from 307 to 310 complete, so I started playing through the warp zones.  I went through all of them on the first three chapters, checking my leaderboard time after each completion (using the leaderboards option on the pause menu during my run of the next warp zone in sequence), but there was no change.

Next I thought that 1-1 and 1-2 might have something to do with it, so I replayed them.  After I finished 1-2, I checked my times and I'm now up to 310, but my total time has gone up by about 70 seconds.  Also, my 1-2 seems to have been 0.0ed (I didn't replay it and it wasn't 0.0ed before).

The ~70 seconds seems plausible as the amount of time I took on the warp zones, but why wouldn't they have shown up on any of my previous checks?

On second thought, it could just be the times of those 3 omitted levels finally being added in to my score (70 seconds is a bit quick for 36 levels of warp zone).

This is just speculation, but I know that I have strange issues with warp zones and leaderboard times on the PC version. There was a thread about that here. Sometimes when I re-do warpzones the game seems to deduct the time, and sometimes it adds it on. e_e; Something like that could be happening to you. :\

I addressed this is more thorough depth on both these forums and the Steam ones.  Too lazy to find the exact post so I will sum it up...

Each warp zone has a completion trigger of sorts.  Either it's up or down.  After completing the warp it may increase your time a specific amount and if you clear it again it will decrease it exactly that same specific time.  So for example, clearing a warp may jump your time up 3 seconds and clearing it again would remove the same 3 seconds.  All warp, glitch, character levels operate this way.  Experiment to gain lowest time possible.

I just tested this on both versions.

On Steam--the first time I completed each warp zone it made a change, but subsequent completions did nothing.  Based on prior experience I'd guess that they'll revert to what they were previously after a few hours.  Maybe they changed the mechanism in an update since the last time you checked?

On XBLA--I completed a warp zone I hadn't already done today and no change occurred. XBLA has always handled warp zones differently than Steam--I've never noticed any change when I played a warp zone before.

Other discoveries--My time went up again (before my new warp zone testing), I'm now more than 200 seconds up on where I was this morning.  Also, I found out that the new update makes it possible to redo your 0.0s  .  The 0.0 I accidentally created this morning had been eliminated when I checked it this afternoon.  The chapter completion percentage had also dropped from 100 to 99 (but went up again when I finished the level).

The update hasn't solved the problem of not saving progress. Earlier this evening, I unlocked a warp zone on the Rapture level and on returning, it was locked again.

Well, I'm glad it fixed my 00 timers, even though it went BACK to it again on one, although I'm sure they'll fix that, now I'm at 310 levels beaten but I noticed some others have 313 and 360 still so that isn't fixed...

Maybe, it was a few patches back.  Me and SuperTofuBoy pointed it out to team meat and they claimed it didn't work that way.  Wouldn't surprise me any if it was fixed upon finding out it did exist from other people noticing it.  When we did the tests, we initially thought it had to do with the level actually storing times secretly, but found out otherwise.  At any rate, it's quite the weird bug.

When the patch came out and I checked my statistics, my light world completion dropped down from 100% to around 96%. I noticed that in chapter 1 the second, third, and fourteenth levels were white on the stage select screen. So I redid those levels and it brought me back up to 100% in the forest, there by giving me 100% on both the light world and dark world again; 106% overall with 310 levels complete.

The issue that has come up now is my leaderboard numbers have been reset. At this time there is only 6 people with 310 levels completed. When the patch first came out there was over 50 at least. Are the people at 310 being reset/leaderboard disabled? At this point, all I had left to do in the game was better my leaderboard position. I guess it's not a huge deal, but still.

Ok, this might be an odd question, but has anyone else noticed that the right stick is no longer able to be used to move? I only ask because I play with one hand, and that was the only way I could do it. Seems to be gone now

After downloading the update I had my game also go to 99%. What is most fucked about this though is that my bandage count dropped to 99, and the missing bandage from Chapter 1x has permanently disappeared... Anyone else heard of this?
