Then there should not be section of the forum dedicated to anything other than games, as any discussion about politics, sexuality, war or religion will have no merit.
If you're a grown up you can handle having your views challenged or even rubbished. About the absolute limit of 'insults' was the labelling of people's views as arrogant or stupid. Not actually calling the poster that, just remarking, in their opinion, that such a belief system was rooted in personal naivety or arrogance on an intellectual level. There's a difference there, and pussyfooting around that or sugarcoating it makes the arguments toothless.
But if it's inflaming passions, then I won't continue to post like that.
I still don't agree that your point needed to be argued as it was, but we're getting side-tracked from my point here. This is the rules discussion, and my original post was just requesting that bigotry be outlined in rule 1, along the same line as racial-slurs.
I'm not saying your a bigot, just trying to return to my original point in this thread.
