First off: Wrong section Secondly: WiiWare was rejected when filesize limitations could not be met. Any further reduction in quality would make the game look normally as if it were like in -ultralowdetail (which is not too great looking, might I add)
Perhaps that "Big News" is relating to a retail version of SMB on Wii, but for now we cannot do anything besides speculate.

No problem. But all we can do for now is wait patiently for any announcements.

I think right now getting the Level Editor out by next monday is the major concern right now.

I'm secretly crossing my fingers for it to fall through for the Wii. Why? Because I already own it on xbox and PC, and if it gets released on Wii that's one more time I need to buy it so I can use all the character. Not really, I hope it does okay if it reaches the Wii. It may be a tough sell

I'm going to go ahead and start the rumor that it's happening.
They said they will have "news about the Wii version before GDC [February 28]."
And I'm guessing that the news is not "It's still not coming to Wii."
"We found a publisher for Wii" is more likely. "Wii Ware is happening" comes a close second.

No way in hell its gonna be Wii Ware. Unless they did some mad optimizing and compressing it wouldn't meet the file size limit. My guess is they got a publisher and also have a good idea for the Wii exclusive content.

Right, it would be some miracle exemption, and the file size limit was removed just for them.
So, maybe not "close" second.

All I know is that they wouldn't have said "We have an announcement regarding the Wii version" unless there's going to be a Wii version.
It would be awfully anti-climactic to announce that there was still none planned.

I was hoping for the Wii version since they said they make "super Meat Boy". I am still hoping, it has to happen. After all, Nintendo was the company to ask Team Meat about a game, wich then lead to anyways, wasn't it that way? Please, let it happen!

I remember someone saying something like that on twitter and team meat being all like, "actually no we went to them". Obviously the more Super Meat Boy the better though. Fingers crossed!

Again, Im positive the level editor is their top priority right now because they said it'd be out two weeks ago.
