I wonder what character would they use if it came for Wii
Maybe they'll use a metroid for the 10 bandage unlock

Nintendo refused to let them use any of their characters.  I wouldn't be surprised if a character by whoever they got to publish is used though.

Lame. Understandable but lame. Nintendo could fill an entire roster of secret characters and put their stamp on it. It would be epic. Free advertising is always good as well. Plus people go nuts for secret characters anyway. I bet it would sell like crazy.

Yeh.
But personally I find it better the way it is because hey, wouldn't it be kinda lame to see Mario... AGAIN? IN A JUMP'N'RUN?
Go away Caps Lock, the pocks on you.
And I think fans would consider it kinda lame if you have none hidden characters that you don't know and well... all the Nintendo ones once again.

I am more interested in all the indie ones they will pull out off their sleeves. Because they lead me to new interesting indie games.
Didn't know Spelunky before SMB and now I play it almost every day!
And that's just one example...

Quote
I remember someone saying something like that on twitter and team meat being all like, "actually no we went to them".
Oh okay..
Well then..
please come out for Wii anyways~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was under the impression that Team Meat ruled against First Party characters early on.

That is true, although I don't really see the harm in putting Waluigi into SMB...seeing as though Nintendo hasn't done jack squat w/ him since forever.  SMB would be the best game he's ever been in, plus Waluigi is awesome!  Although I have no idea what his "special ability" would be.

Olimar could be quite an interesting character to use as well, using pikmin and whatnot to get opposite momentum or stall enemies or barriers.  But anyway, I'd def buy a retail Wii version.

Seriously though, who owns the rights to the Battletoads characters now?  Zit needs a epic comeback in a game that is epicly difficult.

I'd like the more obscure Nintendo characters to be featured, such as the Drill Dozer girl or maybe Pit from Kid Icarus, but those are very unlikely.

Maybe other characters from the 8 and 16-bit generation?  Megaman or the like?  That'd be freaking sweet.

Oh I see. Sorry wasn't aware of that. Makes sense tho.

Off topic... Wouldn't Sonic the Hedgehog with full dash ball charging ability be awesome ? Granted, dashing would get u owned more than it would help, but I still think it would be fun times

Instead of just new characters, how about some old school Nintendo level design influences...with/or epic OST remixes.

Imagine a Yoshi's Island inspired Meat Boy level to a faster remix of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fb8K6VJ5uQ

Metroid level, long key/switch-based Metroidvania w/ checkpoints: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6SIIgtcTgE&feature=related

DKC2 level, must be truly epic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pvhv0yquhc

Or the Airship theme/levels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rix0RD0oqWI

And who could forget about a Kirby-inspired level: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSR3GPQccbA

Imagine a whole chapter like that, where each level is a badass homage of some kind!

If a Wii version ever came out, I would love to see Quote or Lemeza be included as secret characters
