The game is about meat parkour, not standing still

I would probably pay 35$ max for Super Meat Boy. It's so addicting, I just can't stop playing it until I get everything I can. You know what? I change my mind. I would pay 60$ if I had to. Meat Boy

If they had a retail copy available for pre-order at the same time as the steam download version, I would've paid the extra price for it without question.  I've loved the game since the prototypes and even helped build bandage guides for them.  I was one of the few people who experienced the game with a controller before smb even existed, via button mapping.  All the hype prior to launch had me squirming with anticipation to say the least.

I'm a video game masochist and absolutely love challenges and hard game play.  My childhood was spent on the nes, the same as it was for Edmund and Tommy.  I grew up on games intentionally made so difficult that you or a friend was suckered into paying 10 to 20 dollars for a hint guide in order to even advance.  For instance, the second Castlevania game literally gives you no hint on how to get to one of the castles and no amount of trial and error would get you there either.  Or the original Metroid game *shudders*... the majority of that game is literally spent navigating through walls without any indication of where your character is or where to go.  There's no map feature, no navigation whatsoever.  The wall bullshit literally doesn't even color destructible blocks nor where the path of it is or leads.  If you make one tiny mistake, you fall to the beginning of the game and have to spend countless hours working your way back through the wall-hell.  Games these days are cheapened by saving, auto-saving, endless lives or continues, or a general lack of death all together.  Reaching goals has been made easier and failure to do so is met with less punishment.  I have an incredibly hard time playing newer games since they feel lackluster and disingenuous.  I haven't enjoyed a single Final Fantasy since the original tactics and absolutely abhorred FF7 and beyond.  But this game really made me fall in love with gaming all over again and I can't put a price tag on that.

I've purchased this game twice (for PC first when it was on sale for $3.75, and for 360 at full price), and I think I'm going to purchase it for every new system that it is released for.  It's that freaking awesome.

No.

Reasons:

1. I already bought it for $3.75.
2. I never spend more than $10 on a game. I rarely spend even that much. Super Meat Boy would be worth full $10 to me though, if I didn't already have it.

Answer (in two parts!)

1. No, not homeless.
2. Yes, something. Something = interested in succeeding in life. I'm about to finish my first master's degree without ever having borrowed any money. I'm profiting every year, even though I'm paying my own way through college.

Just like me, except I spend a shit ton of money on games because my parents are paying my way through college.  They're only gonna pay for undergrad, but for what I want to do with my life I don't really need anything else. I'm also profiting every year

Seriously though, good for you.  Major props for the dedication.  I hate $10 or less games, I feel inclined to purchase them just because "why the hell not".  In fact, I've spent so much fucking money on games ever since I discovered Steam Sales.  It is a MAJOR problem for me

I'd buy a $50 Wii retail in a heartbeat, due to already having it on Steam/XBLA I wouldn't re-buy those at retail.  But a Wii version, or a 3DS version I'd surely buy for top dollar $50 at retail.

SMB is worth every cent to me!

I would.  I love platformers and Super Meat Boy got fantastic hype.  There's no way in hell it would have slipped my radar.

I'd buy it for $30. Already have the Steam and XBLA version, but would gladly shell out for a retail boxed copy.
