Unlikely. In a very early post, Team Meat said there would only be Super Meat Boy, no sequals. |

The reason we are getting the level editor and portal soon is so that we can expand the game ourselves since a sequel would just end up being the same thing with new cutscenes. If we want extra levels, we will make them. And occasionally Edmund will craft some works of his own as well. So to answer your question simply... no. Not now, not later, not ever.

Nope. They already said that there would never be a Meat boy 2, and they had some reasons, but I totally forget them all.
They claimed that the first one was a satisfactory product and they didn't want to fuck with what was already there. |

Despite my username, I'm not really a Sonic fan. The name just stuck from when I was one. If I want fast action nowadays I just play Meat Boy. Or chase my cat. Sneaky little devil she is.

Well also, the game ends with just you and bandage girl left living. All the rest of life was erased. Hence 'the rapture' and 'the end'. There isn't much left you could really do with that regardless of "wanting more money" as it was put. If we are lucky, Edmund will craft new templates to play around with in the editor. But that's seriously as close to a sequel as I see them ever doing. The game literally is what it should be and doesn't need a sequel. New obstacles and atmosphere to play with when we make our own levels would be pretty darn cool to say the least, but don't hold your breath.
