Ok... So this forum is capable of having discussions about religion, homosexuality etc etc. So now lets truely test the limits here.

1 word. Government.

Completely open ended. Discuss your views on government, types of government, corruption of government etc etc. Any political discussion welcome.

Live or die. Make your choice.

Government is great.

The alternative is anarchy, which is simply the freedom to oppress the weak. Look at Somalia for an example.

Too much government is bad, but not as bad as too little. Government ideally should be a leveller. A safety net for the poor and the weak, and one which expects people who benefit from their society to contribute back in kind.

The only people who wish to dismantle the government further are those who do so in order to allow them to additionally take advantage of the weak, and those who have been brainswashed by the rich and powerful with scare stories in order to vote against their own best interests. (Communists! Terrorists! Quick, vote against giving yourself free healthcare!)

If you're wealthy due to benefitting from living in a stable and prosperous country, then contribute back you ungrateful piece of shit! There's little I hate more than rich tax dodgers.

Agreed. I guess if I had to pick a form of government. The idea of a Republic sounds best to me. I think democracy is all well n good to an extent but it can get out of hand. Much like 1000 villagers chasing 1 guy (to make my point this guy is innocent) out of town for something they think he did. Why ? Because the media or "town crier" said so. I just wish there was an uncorruptable form of government but sadly there is not. There will always be a constant struggle between those who wish everyone to be free and those who wish to control for their best interests. At the end of the day though, in a democracy, the people themselves stop caring once they reach a certain level of prosperity and forget what great men worked so hard for. Then slowly but surely freedoms are stripped, government and media are corrupted, and the rest is history (or should I say present ) .

At the end of the day its up to people to find out what works best for them and to fight to protect that system. If the system is corrupted you must take it back. Even if by force. (diplomacy obviously would be the better option but ya know  )
