The game is about meat parkour, not standing still

If you're referring to that one evil level in Rapture that I'm thinking of, the reason is they move.  The gravity is pushing you against the ground so therefore jumping should be limited.

It's occurring on that level. But I've had trouble on numerous other ones also. I think 5-4x where you can take the left part of the level if you can jump past the Gravity thing. Once you get below the first saw on the right you have a high fail rate at simply jumping off that wall and the gravity is barely effecting that area.

That one may be tuned beyond its visible radius.  The gravity variable to set those things works based on the center point of the obstacle and stretches outwards from there.  In devmode, if you crank it up a bit, you will easily be pulled or pushed outside of the visible eccentric circles surrounding it.  It wouldn't surprise me any if the default gravity of those things extends just beyond their animation.

Yea I think that's whats going on because there is a gravity thing nearby but compared to others it shouldn't have done anything. When I get to the space on the wall, the middle part is where I can jump from but if I slide down past that, even by a little bit, then I can't jump and just slide into the nearest saw.
