I hadn't been on ModDB or IndieDB in quite a while, and I ventured back to discover they had released a product called Desura (which explains that thing on the Humble Indie Bundle that I ignored). I've installed it and actually grown quite fond of it in the past week.

For those who don't know, it's a Steam-style Digital Distribution system designed for indie developers and modders. It's got a small library of games available on it right now, but I'm liking how it organizes mods into drop down menus under the game it's a mod of. Some of it's functionality relies on Steam, but it's a great extension, and it's made me a little more willing to play some unofficial mods.

Also, getting free games available from their library is a plus. Has anyone else used this? The program is still in it's infancy but I'd like to hear what other peoples' experiences with this is.

Yes I heard about it, and I also like the mod support it has, but I kinda got used to steam where I buy all digital copies of my games (also because I can purchase them without a credit card, with the paysafecard method)... But I'll try it out soon.

Yeah I thought I'd look once then stick with Steam, but I like how they actually kind of work in harmony.
Half Life 2 Mods like Dissolution and Minerva are downloaded and managed in Desura, but run through Steam's Source SDK Base, which is kinda neat.
