I got an idea for a new mode to fit the game called...

Marathon Mode!

It contains different series of levels from the game, that you have to beat with 3 lives for each level, (Just like warpzones!). To unlock each of the different marathons, you just have to have unlocked all the levels in it. Here are my suggestions:

[The achivements for ironman runs having their original achievement name]

NOTE: All of the below does not include Cotton Alley or The End levels. There's two of each marathon. One with light levels and one with dark.

Sharpshooter - All levels featuring bladeshooters

Biomes - All levels featuring blood goo and viruses

Focused Light - All levels featuring lasers

Breeze - All levels featuring fans

Acceleration - All levels featuring converor belts

Heat Seeking - All levels featuring missles

Ignition - All levels featuring fireballs

A Triumpf - All levels featuring portals

I - All levels featuring eyelasers

Bark - All levels featuring hellhounds (Thats what i call em')

The Force - All levels featuring gravy orbs

Do Not Push - All levels featuring buttons

Dead Meat - All levels featuring zomboys (Again, thats what i call em')

Fishy - All levels featuring carnavores (Yet again, thats what i call em')

More to come?

I call the Hellhounds (if those are the splitting missiles with mouths?) Cluster Carls (or Clusterf--k Carls after they killed you about 50 times in the same level) in memento of Bullet Bills and stuff.

Also I don't see how these add much. Sure, low-death is a challenge, but we already have the 0 death achievements for entire chapters.

Mostly, it would just to give some player a little extra challenge and content, because there's not gonna be a second Super Meat Boy and everyone loves updates, even though they aren't new levels...

I'd be willing to do "The Force" if your gonna make custom levels.

The Force - All levels featuring gravy orbs

Gravy orbs? WHAT THE F**K are Gravy Orbs?
I've 106% Super Meat Boy twice, and i've never come across these GRAVY ORBS! Epic spelling mistake FTW!

As for the idea, I like the idea, but I'd personally would want the levels to be harder. I'm talking Ch. 4 Dark World hard! But each chapter to have its own theme, such as lasers or the "Hellhounds" or portals (those were my 3 fav suggestions). Maybe we'll see something like that when the level editor/ portal is out for a while.

If I wanted to torture myself with 3 lives and then you're kicked out, I'd play warp zones, which actually have a reward.

Enter the Unknown will randomly generate an endless string of levels from the portal.  Maybe Team Meat could be coaxed into adding something like a statistics tracker that tells you how many levels you made it "into the Unknown" without dying, and other things like that, and there could be a new highscore board for such feats of manliness.

This is a much better idea.

I've actually been thinking about how great a "Leaderboard mode" could be...or more specifically a "meta-game progress mode".

For instance:

-When you beat a level upon completion a little stat window would pop-in from the side and tell you where you stand on speed in the last month, what your leaderboard position raised too, compare that to other friends' stats on-the-fly.

-It could have a whole meta-achievement built-in.  Like say you die 100 times on a level upon completion a glass shattering sound and the stat bar crashes in declaring you "Endurance Boy!".  And of course the reward possibilities here are endless.

-The Stat bar crashes in from side of the screen and tells you when one of your friends beats your time on a level...and offers to show the replay.

And there's a lot more ideas that could go into that, but in essence it's an on-the-fly reward system basically.  Makes you feel like you're always accomplishing something, as well as being better connected to your Steam friends.  But that's definitely something I'd be interested in, in terms of possible mods for the game.

Someone already did that... be more creative!
How bout that: Try to drink huge amounts of cherry whiskey without dying.
And every time you die, you play a SMB-Level.
