Anybody here have any interest in this series?  I bought the first game on Steam during the Christmas sale and just beat it a few minutes ago (and therefore won't be able to sleep for a long time  ), and I gotta say that it is a phenomenal game.  A great single-player experience that will chill you to the bone while still bringing on lots of action.

My copy of Dead Space 2 (limited edition, got it for sale on Amazon  ) should arrive here by Tuesday, so now I can get started on that after having properly beaten the original.  I'm also playing the iPhone Dead Space, which is a prequel of sorts to Dead Space 2, and it's surprisingly well done.

What do you guys think of Dead Space?  Any early thoughts on DS2?

Played the first when it came out. First I found it quite boring and lay'd it down for a few weeks.

When I got bored one day I thought to play it again. Was quite fun, but will not be one of my favorite games.
The animated movie was cool, I liked the drawing style from it.

At DS2 I only played the Demo yet, but for me the demo alone was cooler than dead space 1 in complete.

Huh, funny. I'm actually playing the first game as I type this up. I'm currently on Chapter 10: End of Days. So far, I think the game is really fun and I'm very much considering moving on to the second game after I finish this one. But, to be honest, it's not as scary as I thought it'd be. Still a great game, though, in my opinion.

Played both of team a few time over, and they are both pretty fun. It may not be as scary, because you get used to it and same tricks don't work after a while, it's still a fun shooter... I recommend it to anyone who likes adrenaline with his action.

I get what you're saying.  After a bit the scares kind of died down (especially because I was playing on normal, and eventually I had a TON of ammo, so I felt like I could handle anything that came after me), but the final sequence at the end really amps up the scares, especially with some plot twists they throw your way.

Now, fellow forum-goers, what is the grossest death scene?

NO PUKER OR TRIPOD

Mine is probably the death from that huge bastard at the end of DS1  [D:>]oh noes mah arms

Oh my god, I died to that guy like five times because I couldn't figure out how to aim upside-down...    That sucked so hardcore.

I've heard great things, but I'm too much of a pussy.  I had to move at such a slow pace playing Bioshock, Resident Evil Remake and 4.  Yeah, Bioshock gave my heart a hard time.  As far as I know, Bioshock wasn't even marketed as a thriller

Same here. My friend (who has never died on both, plays it in the dark, wears headphones, and claims he has only been mildly surprised) tells me, and the wiki and YouTube are the only internet help I use. But wayy too many comments about Isaac getting deepthroated (not meant in offensive way) by a Tripod. The constant decapitations get old though. According to the hilarious Escapist review series, Zero Punctuation (google it), everyones limbs are attached with masking tape and dog food. True stuff.

I love that guy! He's funny and appears not to like any game.
