Alien Hominid is amazing.
Spelunky is very very good.
Tim is not bad.
Gish, Pink Knight and The Ninja are almost useless.

Pink Knight got a glitched super jump. Very hard to use but useful on some stages.

First of all I wanna make clear I haven't played the pc version myself, although I have seen a good amount of gameplay with it's characters......

PC vs 360
Headcrab + Goo ball vs Gish - 10 bandages No difference between gameplay even
Josef vs Alien Homonid - 20 bandages Josef just got a lame float/double jump move. Other character have this ability, but then in a better way. Alien Hominid is awesome for speedrunning some levels. 360 wins
Naija vs Tim - 50 bandages Tim is quite useful for some bandages, but Naija is awesome for some speedrunning. Since I'm a bit of a speedrunner, I'd say Naija wins. PC wins
Runman vs Spelunky - 70 bandages From what I've seen Runman is harder to control, but usable on more levels, so..... even
Captain V vs Pink Knight - 90 bandages Pink Knight is useless, so.... PC wins
Mr. Minecraft vs N+ ninja - 100 bandages Steve breaks the game in such a way I think any character would win against him, so.... 360 wins

I think it's quite even for me, but if i had to choose between 360 characters or pc characters I'd go for 360.

In my opinion, Tim and Spelunky are the only characters from the xbox version that are more fun than some of the PC ones, but I generally like the PC characters better. And the Rapture music in Dark World sounds a little bit boring.

I think its odd that people believe that Pink Knight and Josef are the same.  Pink Knights jump basically takes him up in an odd little short arc, much like Yoshi.  Josef on the other hand, has the highest initial jump of the double jumpers (Flywrench can jump a bit higher) and one of the best horizontal jumps in the game as well.  Add on top of that that he is absolutely adorable and the coolest damn robot on the block, and he is a pretty cool dude.  Also Head Crabs jump isn't the same as Goo and Gish, but those two are the same.
