What about "The Galaxy is in Pieces" for the Metroid one? Its a play off of the opening of Super Metroid "The last Metroid is in captivity, the galaxy is at peace". That or "Justin Bailey", or something like that.
Very good suggestions, but I'll stick with Trenbolone for now. The only problem with The Galaxy is in Pieces is that it's length may be too long. Justin Bailey would be a very good name, but I didn't know it's purpose until I googled it and I think many others would also have problems connecting it to the game. I didn't use that kinda codes in Metroid back then! Justin Bailey is a fairly famous cheat code. Its not as iconic as, say, the Konami Code but its probably a close #2. But obviously if you want to stick with Trenbolone that's cool. It is your level set after all, and in the end I don't care what the levels are named just as long as they're fun and make me feel young again

I like the word play behind Trenbolone. I'm confident that "Justin Bailey" will be used on another level by me or someone else at some point though. It's a great name and as there are numerous people who are planning on remaking some Metroid areas, chances are that we will find a level by that name rather soon. I hope these levels come out nice and with even a slight amount of replay value. We'll see about that.

That's also a very good point. Plenty of levels, even those unrelated to games, will have the obvious game jokes.

A tiny update. I polished the Zelda level now and made a tiny final modification to the missile room. It looks like this now: I hope it's not too hard now. I can make past it about 3 out of 5 times so it's not a walk in the park but manageable. I'll update the download links once at least five levels are complete and I hope to get some feedback about the difficulty etc. at that point. I'll make some noise when that time comes.

Hey, people. I need your opinions. The first two levels in the pack look very stripped and cold and I'm strongly leaning towards replacing them with completely different levels. I think they served as good test levels, but they are not worth including into the finalized chapter unless completely remade. The Kid Icarus stage is too limited and the part from Duck Tales is not exactly memorable and is very hard to notice for it's different colors and extra textures.
So, I initially thought to replace them with levels from Ice Climber and Faxanadu, but you're free to suggest better ones. I'd love to have at least Faxanadu in the mix!
EDIT: Ghosts 'n Goblins suggested by McJones also feels like a very good choice.
The Kid Icarus stage is great. Maybe it could be extended just a bit, but I wouldn't replace it if I were you. Your right about the Duck Tales stage tho, it's not the most immediately recognizable.

Haha, I remember playing that at a friend's place once or twice. What a great area for an SMB level, indeed! But, as I'm not very familiar with the game, I will just keep that as an option and add it to the list of secondary games to use. Baby Ruth is a hilarious name. *** Update! Bomberman stage is up and you can find a video from the topic post. I didn't get the bandage in the video because that would've ruined the level's whole point of trial and error, a long and potentially dangerous path to access keys that reveal either rocket launchers or more keys.

Liking Bomberman! Cool, that's nice to hear! Btw, I'm currently uploading a video about the polished Kid Icarus stage. I decided show some footage outside the successful runs there, and as you can see, my laptop is suffocating while I run a video recorder and SMB at the same time. Twitching and lag most of teh time. The video shows up here soon, feel free to check it out if there's nothing more productive at hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kENXk_E24Fo

you shouldn't have showe people what keys to take and where bandage girl is bomberman..you should let them try and find out...Maybe before realeasing the pack you'll modify.

I already planned doing that. Thanks for suggesting though, the video really ruins the fun (or frustration).

Looking at the Bomberman one again, and saw the blades hidden in the breakable blocks too - brilliant. Really original thinking and not like any other levels i've seen. Also congrats on the 1k views for Zelda! The Team Meat re-tweet worked wonders! Both are really impressive.
I do like the new Kid Icarus, but the only suggestions i'd make would be to change the background somewhat and/or add a bit of ornamentation to the sides of the walls. At the moment it looks kind of like a block floating in space. If you gave it say the sky background from -6, or maybe made the outer side walls less straight, by putting uneven edges on them, it'd look visually much better IMO and somewhat more organic.
Also I think the final jump is maybe a little too busy with the saw shooters and the blades. I think one or the other is possibly enough as it seems a little cluttered as is and destracts from the elegance of the design. If you were looking for more hazards, i'd suggest dotting a few more red slugs on the level as well as or instead of some of the spikes to simulate the enemies in the level on the NES.
Only my personal opinions though, and i'm sure plenty of people would disagree with me.

I would get rid of the clouds in the Kid Icarus stage. Its based off the first level which is supposed to be the underworld. The clouds just make it look like night time.

That is a good point, but doing say a hell tileset would confuse people I think. Most imagine Kid Icarus as taking place in the clouds, even though storywise that's only the final world. It'd be anachronistic to make it look like a sky level, but would probably fit better with how people remember it. It's definitely a design dilemma, and I can see why he went with clouds. I just think the edges need work mainly, as when the level is a solid rectangle, unless they conform to the borders of the level, it can just look like it's a container floating in space a little. I know the video has black borders at either side, but that's not the game - it's Youtube turning a 4:3 vid into 16:9 and letterboxing it. In the game you'd be supposed to imagine there was more scenery out of shot.
