Well... I was debating on showing this or not.  I was originally trying to make Meat Boy but couldn't render outlines like I wanted so I scrapped that. When I tried again I said "screw outlines" and started working on Dr. Fetus. Considering he's much more complex and different than Meat Boy, I was wondering "why the hell did I start with him?"... I really didn't have an answer. And still don't- but this was fun.
*Note- I was not influenced by the Bandage Get or A+ videos. I did this merely because I wanted to try.

As you can see, it's not well put together, I haven't even started the actual Fetus (placeholder), no textures, and I haven't rigged it yet.
Another thing is that I tried to make him game "applicable", in that he can be rendered in real-time, made of triangles (post/clean up), properly textured and rigged.

Well damn, I think the model itself is amazing as it is, I don't see a need for any textures at all. The solid colors are great as they are.

Though, the only problem I see is that the Fetus portion looks a bit fat. Try making it a bit thinner.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I love how it looks currently, but a lot of my focus right now is cutting corners and UV mapping it. I want to texture it because I'll have a lot more options when it comes to visual style. I will say, though, the basic "toon" shading I'm using as a placeholder really captures the look of the game. I hope to achieve something better though.
Another thing... One of the reasons I wasn't gonna show this is- when I work on something, I get to a certain point, and the I get REAL lazy and often never finish. I have higher hopes for this.

You can "haz" it when I'm done. I actually want to do a few more of the characters (and an animation) and I'll release both the source files I worked with (nothing fancy though) and GMod exports. (Guess I'll make Ragdolls out of them or something.)

More characters? Sweet. I can only imagine playing L4D2 with MeatBoy, DrFetus, BGirl and Brownie as a team.

...You just Blew my mind!
...Sucks though, you'll have to get someone else to convert it for mods. (Again, I'll give the source files... but that person is probably have to tinker with it in order to get any desirable results. Considering the mod focus of source games- there has to be someone who'll do it)

...But Dr. Fetus HAS to be Nick.

ellis is meatboy, coach is brownie,

if its l4d1, fetus as francis, meatboy as louis, brownie as bill (to avaoid obvious racism)

Sorry to break up the L4D-SMB mash-up but I have a small update. Here's a quick comparison between UV and rendered

UV
Render

Small model updates/fixes, new texture for the jar/container (small bug you can't really see here) and he's mostly UV mapped for texture mapping.
NOW for textures.

Another update.
Well... UV mapping (of which I know little other than really basic stuff) is mostly done with the exception of possible future edits. And DAMN it was annoying. However... Texturing was an absolute delight!  It's weird, I don't texture much, but this was mostly easy and fun to watch my results. Not done mind you. One reason is I finally got an account on CGtextures which gives me free textures to work with (not a premium member mind you). This is probably where my work could get a little divided. Not much, but my texturing focus is rather surrealistically focused. What I mean is that my model- eh, screw it. Just think of Super Smash Brothers Brawl and you'll get my meaning. I just think that considering my original renders used flat colors. Also. one more thing. Again, my textures aren't finished- but I tested normal mapping my model with the current texture I have (converted to an RGB normal map) and I rather like it. I changed the shader to help benefit it (normal maps) while keeping the 'toon' feel. Comparison time!

Normal maps
No Normal maps

...Daymn. That was a mouth full. I talk too much.

I like the normal mapped one, my only complaint being the wrinkles on the shirt are a bit too pronounced.
