It amazes me that people are surprised by this. Valve provide "content as a service" with Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 and gave us Alien Swarm with complete modding tools. I sort of expected this. Not saying I demanded it, but I figured they'd do it.
