Nooooooo. The release date has been pushed back to April 21st '11 .  Not again   .

I mean, granted, I want it to be perfected just as much as they do but c'mon. I'm like a junky who can't find crack at this point.

Quit teasin me and give me my fix Valve!

Must...Shoot...Portals....At...Friends.....

EDIT... Oh and instead of double posting i'll ask here out of curiosity. Who is getting this on PC ?

I'm one of the "aiming with joy on FPS games = retarded" kind of guys. Must have mouse to aim correctly so PC for me of course.

I'll be playing this on PC for sure.  My gf and I will probably beat the crap out of the co-op mode (she doesn't play much FPS, so this is good practice for her )

And most of the people I know already have Portal 1, particularly because there have been plenty of opportunities to get that game for free on Steam.

Let's just judge games based on how old their engines are. But you do miss the point that the Source engine gets updated (TF2, L4D and L4D2 all have a 'different' Source engine) and the graphics look far from bad.
Oh, and I for one look forward to Portal 2. S'gonna be fun.

The first was overrated because it was great.  If it was shit nobody would praise it (do people ever faun over Speed Racer for the SNES?).  Was it perfect?  No, but that's what sequels are for.  The first was more like a glorified tech demo, and now that they know the idea sells they can spend a good deal of time and effort fleshing it out with new mechanics and (hopefully) a real story.

Portal 1 was made by 10 guys.
Portal 2 is developped by over 500 guys.
Terrible argument.  If Super Meat Boy was made by 500 people instead of 2 would it be the greatest game ever?  It would actually probably be shit if that many people had their hands on it.  I'm not saying the same is going to happen to Portal 2, but I am expecting a certain level of the lighthearted charm to be lost.

I have seen some of the demo vids and such but I have tried not to look too far into it. It's like one of those deals where if I get too much "sneak peak" info it will ruin the game for me. I prefer to remain mostly in the dark and then explore the game for myself when it comes out. Will lead to a more enjoying experience imo. But thats just me.

Thx for the link though

The pre-order bonus on Steam for Portal 2 is absolutely absurd.

A free copy of Portal? You know, the game I already have which is why I'm buying Portal 2? You know, the game you gave away for FREE for a whole week when you launched the Mac version?

At least give us a pre-order bonus equal to what you get from EB Games or Gamestop... /sigh...

Don't forget about the Companion Cube Pin, and whatever other TF2 Promo items they're cooking up for us.

A- Cool Stuff Planned. Very cool.

Meanwhile GameStop pre-orderees just get ugly reskins for co-op.

Also they are using a 7 year old engine.

This "7 Year Old Engine" was updated in the past, and will be updated in the future.

It works fine on older PC's, so I really don't see what could be wrong there.

I don't want to spend hundrets of *insert currency of your country* just to play a game.
That's why I think I will never play Crysis 2 in the next 3 years :D
