I promise not to complain about hard levels unless they overflow the portal You rule! Now how do we hijack control of the XBLA Internets? The gatekeepers seem to be on the other side of the fence...

By the way, I saw you on Team Meats twitter. Their expert chapter isn't harder. Its more intense than Cotton Alley at times though. Its pretty insane, but I decided to wait for the PC version since that's the save file I actually care about. The The End stage remix is totally zoomed out so you can see the entire stage (Meat Boy shows up as a tiny little speck). Total insanity.

The game is about meat parkour, not standing still

I hope you are joking about that end stage remix. I hate that level as it currently is.

These levels are very well done! There are a few little qualms here and there though: Invisible blocks can actually work due to the meat splatter mechanic, but in Ice Truck Killer, there's very little indication (well aside from the fact that it looks impossible) of what's happening unless the player stumbles on it accidentally or watches your videos, perhaps you could introduce the concept earlier (like start them on an invisible platform). It is a neat concept though, it could make some interesting levels used carefully! In floater, I'm not a fan of gravity wells, but the level works, it's nicely executed and not TOO bad. The only gripe with this level is I constantly lose track of where I am thanks to the clouds, and the fact that the background is very close to meat boy's color. As for gentle rain, I like a good challenge, but are we really expected to do a vertical wall jump at the beginning of the first wall climb? I can't pull that off reliably (Is there a trick to it?), and it seems kind of unfair to expect that kind of luck. Also, putting the fan part which is almost pixel perfect near the end is pretty evil, even for me. Those issues aside, I really like these ideas, it's a nice mix of levels. Good job! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! One question though, how in the world did you get the background to turn red and flash when you get near the key in level 12? My jaw dropped when I saw that. (I understand if you don't want to give away your secrets, but it's worth a shot )

Hey cousinoer5, nice to see you again! Thanks very much for checking out the levels. Good idea about introducing the invisible platforms earlier, I wish I thought of that a week ago... but that's what I get for having limited outside opinion I guess. I kinda feel like it was a one shot idea and I wouldn't try to execute it again personally. I hear you on the sky color and clouds in Floater... I didn't really get bothered by it until I was watching the video after upping it to YouTube, it's quite hard to see the player due to the low resolution. I thought the clouds looked to cool to take them back out, but now I'm wondering if it isn't for the best in the end. The jump in Gentle Rain you are talking about, you mean the spot at the far bottom right, right? If so, yeah there is a trick to it. I can do it about 95% of the time now that I know exactly where I need to hit. If you play around with it for 10 minutes you'll probably get the hang of it and be able to do it reliably (it's a nice skill to have for the game at large btw!). I may just have to do a one time update and make all my fixes in one pass and re-up the file. I'll make a mention of it on this page if I do. As for the color change, it's WAY less complicated than it looks, in fact if you stare at it closely for long enough, you will get exactly what I did, but I'd rather not explicitly say. Thanks again for taking the time to try my levels!

Oh man, now I see it, that's freaking CRAFTY right there!
As for the wall jump in Gentle Rain, I have it down now, I thought the vertical wall jump was a glitch that occasionally happens, but it's very consistent now! Though you may want to introduce that early on somehow, when the portal hits, I don't think people will be able to move spawn points, and getting there just to experiment on that jump will probably wear thin quickly.
Also, I saw team meat's tweet about your chapter, if this is too hard, I'm screwed! Well, until I start making more sensible levels.

Yeah... I'm gonna have to start working on the next chapter soon. This one isn't the best I can do. Every new piece of work we produce is one more piece of experience we get, so I'm thankful for the time I've spent... they'll only get better as I go.

It seems to be the general consensus that it is indeed too hard. I've seen quite a few people now who seem to find difficult levels more of a challenge than they find worth playing... I wish I knew this before I made the chapter, but you live and learn I guess. I still like to play hard levels... idk what happened to everyone else.

Currently uploading a giant HD version of my full run. It also has more footage where it counts (added a view of the other path through level 19), and less where it was annoying (I trimmed some of the annoying fumbled jumps out). EDIT: Oh god, it's gonna take over 3 hours to upload. UGH!

Bump because the HD version is finally up. Check it out, there's more stuff in it, yet it's shorter.
