I started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion for the 8939023894038902903 time.

And its just as mentally intense.

It's a shame they are only releasing the movie-version adaptation every 2-3 years. 2.0 was released on 27.06.2009 and there's still no word on 3.0's release.

I haven't seen 2.0 yet =__=

Just finished watching the Professor Layton movie.  It was actually really really good.  I gotta say, I love how badass Layton is.  You don't expect it by his looks, but in every single game he gets more and more hardcore.

I used to watch a lot of animes...

DBZ, then DB, then DBGT. Loved 'em.

Bleach was pretty cool, D Gray Man or whatever was also awesome.

Oh yeah, also Code Geass' original series. I stopped the second series when it ran out of english dubs, I only watch things when I can hear what the people are speaking.

Ranma 1/2 was pretty cool.

Heroic Age was alright, I never got around to finishing it though. Wolf's Rain was also a good one.

Here's pretty much everything I watched a few years back.

I also watched Lucky Star and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or whatever. And that one english anime about the vampire that had eleven or so episodes, forget what it was called, but it was set in london.

I stopped a long time ago though, now I just read comics and watch the Simpsons.

This.  I can't stand pompous ass-holes who insist that you aren't getting the full experience if you watched dubbed.  I've watched every Miyazaki film in both dubbed and subbed form, and guess what?  Dubbed is 1000 times better.  Not only are the translations spot 99% spot on, the changes only make the dialog flow better and sound more like a natural born English speaker.  On top of that, how are you supposed to enjoy the beautiful hand drawn visuals if you're reading text the entire time?

I understand that most Anime dubs are supposed to be pretty bad or whatever, but the way I see it is if a movie doesn't get a good dub, it probably wasn't worth watching in the first place.

Unfortunately that's usually not the case. My biggest gripe with some of the larger North American publishers is the lack of time and effort they actually put into both subbing and dubbing. It's sad that "fansubbers" have a better comprehension of the Japanese language and can release a higher quality subbed product in a 24-hour timespan (from airing) than a large company can in months.

NA publishers also like to completely change the meaning to a lot of the jokes/puns to make them easier to understand simply because they are not witty enough to come up with an English translation of the original joke or pun.

I really can't place enough value on dubbed and subbed products by these publishers to actually purchase DVDs. If they actually did a better job, I likely would.

Oh I understand, and I do think its important to include both options on DVDs, I was simply referring to my dislike of the subbing elitists.  You know, that handful of dicks that's all like "if you're watching it dubbed you aren't actually watching it".

After some months of no manga/anime related, I watched Serial Experiments Lain. I dont like it, but, no idea why, I want to see it again. Also, the opening... well.. I love. No idea why (again).

I would like to see an anime, any idea what should I watch?

I'm confused, are there really people out there who like anime but don't like Miyazaki?  He's one of the greatest film makers ever.  And yes, I did say film makers not anime film makers.

Insani you truly are a worthy adversary
