Too many hats, too many hard to get weapons / hats that can be bought through store. Too many hats that can ONLY be bought through store, too many hats.

Do you mean the very same hats that have no effect on gameplay? (I think it's only a matter of time until polycount hats are removed from the set requirements)
The very same hats that are all for sale in the store as an option for those who don't have the patience to find them ingame, craft them, or trade for them?

Why yes, there are many of those hats in the game.

Set hats will not be removed from those sets anytime soon. Thing is, people either wasted 4 refined (each) specifically for them, traded LOTS of hats for them, or spent the money to get them.
With that in mind, removing them from those sets would be a negative thing for Valve to do. The hat idea was an experiment that resulted in crying from many members of the community who crafted all their refined away for other things. As such, we'll probably never see gameplay changing hats again. These will stay because of what has happened.

The only way I could see the TF2 Team removing them from sets is if they gave all current owners a tag on the front of the name, like the Genuine tag. Or a bonus item. Otherwise the backlash wouldn't be worth it.

Actually, I think I read somewhere that you can find them.

And I highly doubt the Polycount hats will be removed from the set requirements, Valve seems to be enjoying it's newfound piles of money.

I highly doubt they don't have enough money to fund ep3 already.

noobs.

I disagree, comparing noobs to the inhabitants of SPUF (Particularly those who inhabit the Team Fortress 2 section) is to insult them.

SPUFTF2 is full of whiny bitches who will complain that an update is taking too long and boycott TF2 until it's out, then once it's out they complain the update is shit and Valve should of taken longer.

SPUFTF2 are ungrateful brats who unfortunately due to TF2 believe Valve are only there to serve them personally.

I trolled SPUFTF2 several times. Fucking morons, it was hilarious.

Unfortunately now every account I make gets banned before I can do anything. Oh well.

The amount of time I play TF2 seems to be proportional to the amount of new, pointless crap you have to grind for.

In that I now almost never play it, when I used to play it for dozens of hours regularly.

Shame Valve, you had such a nice, clean, well designed game. Now it is a cluttered mess. It has become the Donkey Kong 64 of FPS games in terms of 'things to collect'

I wonder if TF2 players will ever realize that weapons are more important than hats...Nah, that wouldn't happen.

I realize that :P Although I got excited when I got a hat drop the other night. The only hats I truly care about are my set hats. I got 4 of the 5 that have gameplay changing effects.

....

I got my first hat drop after ~1400 hours of idling, and then during a halloween mega-drop fest (the ORIGINAL halloween) I got 3 hats in a row.

By then I had four hats, Baker Boy, hatless scout, Tough Guy's Toque and Football helmet.

I had none of them by the time trading came out.

If I ever play TF2 again, I'll use my sweet trading skills to turn my weapons into hats.
(I once had a non vintage KGB. A few days of furious up-trading later, I had two hats and no KGB)
