EDIT:  This post was made without following rule 0 on message boards:  read the damn stickies.  The issue outlined below's been cleared up, but see my next post for the current issue.

Both the world 4 boss and Dr. Fetus in world 6 move incredibly slowly for me when compared to the XBox360 version, however Meat Boy moves at a normal rate (Seriously, Dr. Fetus ended up a good 30 seconds behind the saw blades at the end of the stage, had to go under them to beat it).  All other bosses and levels seem to run fine.

Before anyone suggests otherwise, yes I'm playing on a legit copy (Steam) and my PC is more than capable of running this game specs-wise.

Thoughts?  Ideas?  Any help would be appreciated.

V-sync was the issue, should've read the sticky, sorry.  So now this is cleared up for me. . .mostly.

I've been trying to stream my gameplay, and with some tweaks to my graphics settings I can run this game perfectly in meddetail full screen without streaming, but once I so much as open my capture program (Flash Media Encoder) I drop to about 40fps even windowed 640X480 on ultralowdetail.  It's not a memory issue as I can still run SMB fine with firefox running in the background which uses about 9x the resources of FME according to my task manager.  I've tried running FME and SMB on separate cores, problem persists.  I've also tried raising the priority of the SMB process to high, no help.

I really enjoy streaming this game, but the glitches and control problems that come with the decreased framerate make the game nigh on unplayable on the later levels.  If anyone has some insight on how to fix this, I'd love to hear it.

You are aware fullscreen runs better than windowed right?

Dude, what the hell?  I just tried it and you're right.  I haven't messed with the quality yet, but I've scaled up to full screen and its running much much faster on menus and not lagging at all in game (not that it did before, but it didn't get worse)

I too was unaware that ti ran better full screened, but unfortunately that doesn't really help me with the problem at hand.  Half the fun of streaming gameplay is being able to interact with the people watching, and I can't really check the chat (I use mirc, not resource heavy at all) if SMB is fullscreened.  Plus, it runs fine windowed before I open my broadcaster, even on a higher quality setting with a web browser opened, but open the broadcaster (after closing the browser, to be clear not running both at the same time) and meat boy immediately starts spazzing out.

I did get suggested another broadcaster last night which I plan to try out next time I stream, so maybe that will do the trick.  Still open to suggestions though.

Unfortuantely thats just video capturing software =__=.

But yeah with full screen your computer doesn't have to render the desktop, and it can focus more on running meat boy smooth as minecraft smooth stone.

New broadcaster did the trick and then a little bit (not only no lag, but able to bump the quality back up to meddetail too).  Program is called Xsplit for those curious (it's in beta currently, but an open beta, and free).  The difference is pretty enormous, so I'd suggest this to anybody trying to stream this game.

So problem solved, and learned a few things, thanks to those who responded.  Meat Boy
