Is there any way to finish a level without touching BG?
Nope.

...then right at the end Meat Boy drops out of nowhere and touches her, thus ending the level...
There's no way to add a second player entity to maps, and since bosses won't be supported by the editor you're out of luck.

Ahh well, never mind. Maybe i'll do a final level where you play as BG and have (if possible) have Meat Boy as your win condition, and Tofu Boy unreachable, so in the final level you have to betray Tofu Boy, or something like that. Can other characters be used as just background sprites?

I'd definitely like to go with Tofu Boy not getting the girl after all that effot in some form.

I think you can't add Tofu Boy in the map... But how about this. You make multiple bandage girls next to a visible bandage girl but resize them invisible to the eye so that the level ends before you touch her. Then, when Tofu boy is already close to touching the visible BG, a zombie meat somewhere behind BG notices Tofu Boy and starts to run towards him and touches BG at the same moment Tofu Boy reaches the end. I know, it's a bit tricky to work out, but might be worth a try.

Am I supposed to put something important here?

Heh. I like these. And I came up with some other levels.

The Doldrums: Bandage Girl is directly to your left, but a wall separates you and her. You must climb up through this long winding path. There are no forks, but it always twists, and takes forever to get through. (Can anyone guess what I'm referencing here? Hint: Lethargarians.)

Self-Centered: This would only work if you played as Meat Boy, sadly. There is a platform, slowly moving down a tunnel. It is vertical, like the ones in Vertigo, and there is no way past it. If you wait a good ten minutes, it will get behind BG, allowing you to reach her. However, to the other side of the moving wall, within easy reach, is one of the Meat Boy finishes seen in the Cotton Alley. So you could rescue yourself, and take the easy way out, or you can wait it out, and save BG. There is no difference in the outcome, except you just chose yourself over your girlfriend. Another possible title is: Dedicated?
(Yes, you include the question mark.)

That's all for now.

Alright, I figured out how to make a signature! Aren't you all proud of me?
You aren't? That's not very nice!
Hmmph. You're all just jealous, because my signature is so cool! Yeah. Jealous.

That book was awesome.  Movie was pretty good too (though I was pretty young.  It could suck in retrospect).

Yep. That's one of my favorites. I didn't know it was a movie too. I might have to see that, find out how it is.

Thanks for liking my idea, Stevolutionary! Here are a few more levels I came up with, if you wish to use some more:

Hopeless: You start in a long, winding corridor with lots of flashing lights and buzzsaws on the outsides, giving you the impression that this will be a fun level. At the end of the corridor is Bandage Girl, but the path continues on, so it seems you can glitch through and play the rest of the level. You can't, which means the player will never know what is behind BG.

Presence: I don't know if you could use the Meat Boy goal sprite from the Cotton Alley, but if you could, than this would be a good idea. You start in a large square with Bandage Girl right next to you, but at the 4 corners of the room, there are 4 additional Meat Boys. An invisible saw is placed in each Meat Boy, meaning when you touch one, you will die. It is the player's choice wether to take curiosity and touch one, or not.

The Trial: Meat Boy is in a room. At the center, there is a single key, collecting it releases a trap door, which drops Bandage Girl out of the area. The key isn't required to exit the area, so the player must avoid it, or commit suicide in the pit after getting the key. If you would like to see BG suffer, then you would collect the key. It is your choice to see if you would let her suffer, after all of the pain she has given you throught the game.

I like the key idea, but Bandage Girl isn't affected by gravity (Proof: try playing as Steve)

Thumbs up for the cool concept. Glad to see you start thinking more into the ideas from your other thread.

Did someone not mention earlier she can be given waypoints though? Could the illusion of her falling not be created?

Thanks to everyone for the pretty much universally positive feedback to the concept. I'll wait until the level editor comes out, and if I have time (not a given as i'm self employed so either have loads or none at all) i'll get on to it.

If I find i'm snowed under with work and can't find the time to learn the editor and build the levels, i'd be happy to donate the idea to anyone who found it interesting.

I have no clue, I didn't actually read the majority of this thread...that would be awesome if she could though.  Oh man, think of the possibilities

"Edit" since someone posted: Shits off the hook.  Can't wait to piss off people with this.

Also new (sorry if its not but I didn't read all the ideas to stay spoiler free) idea: Make Bandage Girl start right next to Meat Boy but move away at Meat Boys maximum velocity.  After a lengthy run, she disappears and you (probably) run into a wall of spikes.  This level will be possible since at the end she will warp back to her original point and repeat the motion.  First time, however, you will probably fuck up.
