Ok so, I've always had a bit of a problem with moving platforms (glitching through them, getting killed by them), so I go to the forums here and see the posts about -windowed, and -ultralowdetail, and verifying integrity of game cache, etc, so i do all of those and now I've been trying it for about a day and its glitching worse then before. So today I finally switch back, its better but it still glitches quite a bit.  This is really fucking annoying since I am trying to beat the kid2 right now and I don't need all these bullshit deaths on top of my actual ones.

Sounds like your computer can't handle Meat Boy.

I know its not the response you want to hear, but if ultralow, windowed, and closing all other memory suckers (firefox, itunes, etc) doesn't work then I think its a lost cause.

Perhaps someone here knows more than me, and will have a better diagnosis, but I sort of doubt it

No but the weird thing is that lowdetail and windowed made the problem worse.  I'm pretty sure my computer can handle SMB though its fairly new and I can play tf2, l4d2, etc with no problem.

Getting killed by moving platforms in one block high spaces is a known bug that has only one workaround:
Try the level again and hope it doesn't kill you this time.

As for glitching through them, could you please go more in-depth with the problem? Maybe post a video or some screenshots?

Your system specs wouldn't hurt either. Since -ultralowdetail made things worse then I doubt it's a performance issue, however it could be card related. (Okay, probably not, but fuck it post 'em anyways  :V)

That goes against everything that is known about the glitch though!  Don't know what to tell you, maybe try again once the massive patch that is expected to launch with the editor hits?  It might help I guess.

Just because your computer can handle tf2 or l4d2 doesn't mean it will run smb.  Meat Boy is very cpu heavy.  I can play tf2 perfectly (minus internets lag since my network isn't the best ever), but have to play smb on medium to low.  It has shit ton of tiles, objects, lighting effects, etc. to load up and its rather taxing as a result.

Well basically either 2 things happen:  Meat Boy quickly glitches downward through the platform, doesn't make it all the way through and goes back up.  Or he makes it all the way through and just falls.  On -ultralowdetail and -windowed it happens quite often and rapidly.  So far it seems random.

(Its hard to get a screenshot of it glitching down and then back up since it happens so fast)

Oh I didn't realize, I see.

Yeah, you wouldn't really expect it.  Its also possible that its just not very efficient code or something, I dunno.

Also I think this whole problem started when I opened up devmode.  Also my devmode is very glitched out.  I can't type in anything into a dialog box without it crashing.  Another thing that started after I started up devmode is now whenever I play the game my character will have a mini spaz at non-random intervals.  Sort of like he squishes in the air for a half second.  This is very annoying as I'm pretty sure that if I jump at the time of the spaz, meatboy won't jump.  Not entirely sure on that one though.

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

It's the obvious thing to try first in that situation and you should punch yourself if you haven't yet.

Ah I see since its so obvious someone has totally suggested this before in this thread, thanks for telling me that earlier.  Oh wait...

Also I assume since you're suggesting this, steam will keep all of my stats, etc.  If so, sure I'll try it.

You never mentioned that using -devmode broke it earlier.

Also backup your save file first.

Ok I'll do that.  I searched around the forums and I couldn't find anything on backing up my save files, would that just be copying a folder or file from my steamapps folder?  Sorry for all the questions.

Also,
There is no Mac version yet, and it's not getting ported until after the editor is done.

Aside from that I'm not even going to bother trying to help you. Don't expect support for a pirated copy.
wat.

Yeah, just copy UserData somewhere else and then paste it back later.

About that Mac version post, some guy was asking for help with a pirated copy of the game he's got on his MacBook that was having this issue, but it looks like he deleted his post for some reason.
