When I played through this game first time, I liked the game a lot. The game had difficulty and challenges and lots of fun levels. There was only one thing that I missed: Hard boss fights. The first three bosses were way too easy, a small amount of challenge came with Little horn, for learning his patterns, Larry was almost a complete waste of time, as I found a way to get to the outside of the saws which was pretty much instawin. This is something that Team Meat definitely could've done better, to me, boss fights are one of the most important things in a game, and I was seriously disappointed. I was also really hyped after I had completed the light world bosses to complete them in the dark world, but there was none, and that was a disaster. I mean, come on, why not have one if there is one in the light world? And another thing I thought they could've done, eventually, was adding mini-bosses, maybe after every tenth stage, maybe like some of Dr. Fetus' minions or something like that. And probably, there will be no boss fights in the editor before years in the future in some kind of miracle update.

Dark world bosses could have been cool, but I wouldn't say it's a disaster that there aren't any dark world bosses. The bosses weren't really the high point of Meat Boy to begin with, so it would be kinda silly to remake them except frustrating. A Dark World Lil' Slugger would have been awesome though. As for why there's no dark world version, isn't it obvious? You already killed them all

I don't know about you, but Brownie was quite annoying. And if you found no challenge in Larries' Lament because you got outside the saws, that's your fault. However, I do agree with you. I found it rather disappointing to find there were no Dark World bosses. There should have been harder bosses, as some of the levels take longer to get right than the bosses of the same world. Dark World bosses would've been awesome.

And Dark World Little Horn would be 3 times as long with 7 randomly-generated patterns. Naw, just kidding, Dark World Little Horn would just be same pattern but with some saws on the ground and those lava balls being shot out of the lava at the side so it lands in the middle.

lil slugger should have keys hidden in the level, like I know of two safe spots where you can let it pass you and you have to beat it there and get both keys.

It was really an accident, I was trying to jump from the platform going upwards, over the top sawblade, but I pressed left instead of right and landed on the outside. @Lil' Slugger: I honestly think it would be a better idea to give him to missile launchers, so even when you get way in front of him, he can still kill you.

If boss "battles" are really a gamebreaker for you in a game like Super Meat Boy where death equates to starting over and the only you attack you have is non-existant, you've got some priority issues. The game's focus is the stages, the boss stages are mostly filler for advancing the "story" while giving the completion of a chapter something to hold it together.

I don't see why you said Hell's boss was hard. It was just frustrating, because it was trial-and-error based. Trial and error has always been the #1 cause for frustration, at least imo. It's not difficulty. Rapture's boss was a tad too random for me and kept me busy for way too long. I liked the first 3 bosses and was indeed a bit disappointed when I found out that Dark World's boss level was mostly similar to the Light World version. But I also felt relief, knowing that I COULD tackle this stuff again, even though it was a lot harder than the first time. In the end I found the few boss battles in this game mostly fun and rewarding.

Jesus, please don't make this another thread where we have to argue! I didn't say it was a gamebreaker, go bash someone else. @SA667: I only said learning the patterns of Lil' Horn was hard, tho. And what are you talking about, the Dark World bosses were similar to the Light World bosses? There are no Dark World bosses, have you even read a single post in the thread?

I'm not bashing, I'm responding to your statement: boss fights are one of the most important things in a game For Super Meat Boy, clearly they are not; as evidenced by the comparatively-simple boss battles. The game is simply not designed for boss battles. If anything, the "battles" are more about survival than they are about battling considering that's all Meat Boy is physically capable of in-game. Another add-on about boss battles in general: A boss battle signifies some sort of challenge that must be overcome in order to advance in the game. By putting one at the end of each segment of gameplay, you are setting a goal for the player to triumph. This usually happens once every x stages if the game progresses in a linear fashion. Optional boss battles are completely out of the way and rarely, if ever, have an impact on the plot. The most that usually happens with an optional boss is that the player collects some rare item or just for 100% completion. I'm not necessarily stating that Dark World bosses are a bad idea, I am stating that they are unnecessary at this point. There's no reason to add them aside from novelty and there's no reason to not add them aside from having xbla users shafted from the content they won't get. Team Meat can do whatever they decide on this subject, I am giving insight to what a game designer may be thinking when you asked "Why no Dark World Boss?"
