pretty good stuff.

i enjoy the smaller ones the best.

a few tips.

raise the contrast of the bg more, i had a few levels where i saw the bg as the main ground for some reason, you could probably double the darkness of those bgs.

place objects you want to go over meat boy and over lights in the top layer to avoid any odd looking visual clipping and light rays.

those tripple spinning saws are annoying as hell

keep it up!

Hmm. I just looked at some of the stock maps, and it seems they do the BGs differently -- for instance, on 1-2, the background colors are 0/0/0 with 0.50 amount. But what I generally did was leave it at 255/255/255 with a negative amount (like -.33). So when I made it much darker it turned it pretty much black.

Doing it that way instead made a really big difference!

It kind of mutes the colors overall, though. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the other hand, it makes the maps a lot gentler on the eyes, which is probably what matters most in a game like this.

Hey, just wanted to stop by and say nice work. Your levels look pretty well polished, a couple of them could possibly be mistaken for retail levels! Meat Boy

I'll have to try these when I get a minute.

Looking forward to it.

As I'm nearing completion of the chapter, I'm reaching the point where I'm starting to go through the levels and touching up on the small errors. I want this chapter to eventually be as flawless as possible, so anyone with even minor complaints or concerns or suggestions in the aesthetics or the gameplay should really speak up!

I tend to be blind toward the little mistakes I make, but it's the petty inconveniences that make the difference between "decent" and "great." And there are a lot of sawblades to put in just the right places.

Anyway, I'm petitioning for any feedback/criticism to help me get these maps just so!

I played first 15 maps through.
! I ignored bandages !

1. Maybe a little too hard for 1st level
2. Good level
3. Nice challenge, easier than 1st and 2nd
4. Good level
5. I didn't like the zoom too much :D, nice little level
6. What! This was much much easier than first 5 levels, did it with first try. Could be the 1st map.
7. Good map. It feels like the maps are getting easier or I am getting better.
8. Excellent map. I see better where to jump.
9. Short, first saw is really hard first couple tries :D Not too hard after that.
10. Enjoyable map, long but not hard.
11. This map was too easy, got through with 2nd try
12. A bit too easy after I learned the 1st jump.
13. Good level
14. Cool idea :D First double-rotating saw was hard :S
15. A tad too easy but nice map otherwise

Sorry, but I hope it at least helps you to put them in order.

Tall Grass is the 17th level. This will be an earlier map; this level is basically some gentle wall-kicks, but the real challenge is in grabbing that bandage.

I'm loving what I see. It's great to see people create imaginative maps in devmode and I hope it'll stay that way once the portal is out. I'll put this pack into a test soon.

Am I supposed to put something important here?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say your planning the final level of the pack to have something to do with Old Faithful.
From the pics, this looks really cool!

Alright, I figured out how to make a signature! Aren't you all proud of me?
You aren't? That's not very nice!
Hmmph. You're all just jealous, because my signature is so cool! Yeah. Jealous.

Sundown is the 18th level. There are a few little tricks not visible in a still pic... but it's still pretty short and straightforward.

To be honest the contrast between the ground and the background is a bit jarring, but other than that it looks good, nice work  Meat Boy

Washed Out is the 19th level. Ahh! So close!

I spent some time last night and this morning optimizing the earlier levels for visual effects and speed. Hopefully they'll be top-quality when they're all released.
