Hey =] I bought SMB on Direct2Drive and was wondering if this version is actually getting supported or not.

I mainly ask this due to the fact that no ConfigEditor.exe was included and there is no option for Achievements on the main menu. I had assumed that both these features had already been implemented from reading the blog and looking at the features on the D2D page.

Does anyone know if this is just me or is the D2D version not being supported?

Thanks

There is no ConfigEditor.exe, you have to manually edit buttonmap.cfg with notepad.

Hmmm, okay. It's just that when the game installed, a shortcut to ConfigEditor.exe was also included. When clicked the file, it can't be found. Also, there is no buttonmap.cfg in the install directory. I had wondered whether the game has actually installed properly/downloaded correctly from D2D but I've repeated the process several times to no avail...

Same two problems here and a third one:

It seems the game supports different languages but it's always starting in English. How to change the language? Since the configuration is broken (see above) I don't know what to do. It's not really a problem. I'm just wondering.

Anyway, great game. It's unbelievable, but I died 1500 times in two days and it's still a lot of fun.

There is an additional bug in the Direct2Drive version (I tried to download a new version today but unfortunately it's still version 1.0):

During installation the installation files of the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package" are copied into the root of the hard disc where the game is installed.

Please don't do this. Use the temp directory.

Hello,
which version actually have super meat boy? Cause i bought the game at direct 2 drive and there was the info on there super meat boy site that the version was 1.0. The support team confirmed through a ticket, that this was the actually version and they dont have any information about a newer version respectively a patch from team meat.
But if i look on Steam... there are so many updates, the last one only a few days ago, so i hardly cant believe that this information from d2d support team was correct.

I saw in another thread something about Team Meat not getting paid from D2D so it hasn't been updated yet, not sure if it's true or not though.

Interesting and in a way frightening. Frightening for me as a customer.
Is there given a chance to contact the develpopers becoming a statement.

Btw. Which version your game, bought a steam, has? Is there a version number at all?

I stopped playing the game for 3 month. Today I tried to download it again from Direct2Drive. Only to see it's still version 1 from December 2010. No updates. No language support. No configuration. Visual C++ crap thrown directly into C:\. What the heck is going on? Did D2D took the money and run away? If this is true why are they still allowed to sell the game?

OK, I actually got a game. But on Steam everybody got multiple updates for free. I paid the same and got less. Why? What can I do? Do I have to download a cracked version to get what I payed for?

Wait for Team Meat to realise they do everything wrong.

What do you mean with "everything"? It's only one thing I want to know: Why was the Direct2Drive version never updated?

And one thing is sure! I'll never again buy a game from team meat! And by the way... that will be an indie developer?! Where are your customer proximity? - With respect but...

That's not something you reply to as 'signed'. It's not a petition.

This might be true, but we'll have to wait for Team meat's word on this.

We both know that'll they never say anything about that, they're working on the level editor which is also a major fail.

Everybody put the guns down.  This sounds like Direct2Drive's fault, not Team Meat's.  While they try and figure out how to update that version, seriously, GET STEAM.
