Hello Jintek. Are you XBLA or PC player ? If you play on Xbox, i'd be glad to add you as friend ! You know, speedrunning (meaning playing levels hundreds of times) is kinda crazy, for really passionnated people :p I have friends who played SMB, who liked it a lot but who were just happy to beat the game and basta ! if you like to speedrun though, i'll be glad to help !

I play on both, but I've done most of my speedrunning on my laptop PC acc.  And I think you already added me as a friend, the gamertag I use on that Xbox is "feistiestflunky".  I'll be connecting to XBL on that box in a day or so (it's not my main XBL box), that'll hopefully update my times a little. 

And yeah, I know all about the speedrunning obsession.  The last game I've had the time and motivation to truly speedrun was Donkey Kong Country Returns (all Shiny Gold Metals), I wish there were leaderboards for that.  And I might get into Sin and Punishment 2 leaderboards, and maybe I'll get into Pac-Man CE DX a bit more, or maybe even Ikaruga again.  But I need the time, which I don't have lots of now.

Currently #494, but I have to admit that there are a few glitched times =/
I don't know how this happens, I wish it didn't.
But I think that there are also some records by me, where there is no better time that isn't glitched.
2773.64 is my overall time.

I was just fooling around in rapture and I managed to shave 2 seconds off that level, beating 73L's score by .40 , Runman is supreme for this one.

That officially brings me under 2300 seconds and my global ranking is like 400 or 500 something lol, I should be ranked 3rd or 4th technically from what I know.

Oh nice, I think I may have tried this level with Runman before (a looong time ago) and didn't do so well. And to think of all the time I put into this level trying to optimize with naija. :s   Still, I refuse to re-run this level with Runman (in the same sense that you seem to refuse to use naija sometimes), so again nice job.

You can shave off that record by atleast 0,5 sec extra :p, I could easily do it if I could just pull off the ending jump... which I never seem to get.

And before I get a certain rank I have to finish all the levels first xD.

Got a feeling you'd be right up there in the top 3, I've seen your times and some of your videos.

The 5.50 was just one go at trying that route. I know it can be optimized but I have trouble consistently doing the last jump as well because it is pretty tricky.

I set a bunch of new personals inside forest without trying and shaved like .40 off my grand total which is kind of funny. I don't think I will ever properly speed run cotton ally(my worst world speed-wise hands down) like I did with the original 5.

Ye, I sorta figured that it wasn't that optimized :), I reached the end jump @ 3.60 sec or something which makes sub 5 seem very easy.

Also one run , not optimized but it seems I have stolen another level(when I shave another .10) from Naijas cold fishy grasp. 8.50-70 should be possible.

Beat Exo's insane time of 7.82 by a millisecond!  Infuriating run though, but so worth it.

Also, apoligies for repeating it once more, but if you are getting close to frame-perfect world records, it may be worth recording it (FRAPSing the actual game footage I mean), to keep it in Super Meat Boy history :)

Looking at my SMBStats, my time is 7.816:



I really don't know if it's possible to get much faster than that with Meat Boy, that seems to be the ceiling for that level.

And yeah, I'll definitely start using FRAPS for a lot more of my runs, looking at my scores I still have a lot of work to do.  Gotta love the replay value of this game!
