the original textures aren't bad...they are at a very low resolution, but I find it's the stylistic device of the game.
I just use Misa's HD Pack now because it fits more to the new lightning engine (and the GrassFix mod etc.)

I don't think its a stylistic choice at all. The blocky nature obviously is, but the actual art looks very very placeholder. I'm sure they'll update with improved textures at some point. |

What. The. Fuck. The textures are part of the reason minecraft is cool. People really believe that? Minecraft is cool despite the textures. It's so much fun that when I play I don't care that it looks like a shitty N64 game, but that doesn't mean it doesn't look like a shitty N64 game (as far as textures go. Obviously an N64 could never render a Minecraft world) |

Minecraft is cool despite the textures.
You're opinion. But I think it were the hardcore retro pixel graphics that brought many people to this game when it was in Alpha. |
