I said this in the chat and I will say it again here. Alien Hominid is a poor mans Josef. I highly doubt he will make or break any current speedrun times on any level leaderboard.
Ever plaid alien hominid? No? Well i guess you dont know why some people like to choose him. That downward blast is an engraved part of my childhood man, i played that game almost every day when i was younger. Childhood? What are you 12? That game isn't even that old and yes I have played it. Josef is useless in the pc version and I was stating the fact that Alien Hominid would be just as useless as well with the pcs current character lineup. Shit...all the sudden I feel bad for all the profanity I use on this fucking forum I don't, not one fucking bit

Profanity is fine, and yeah, i played it when i was younger.
Both are not useless. If you like Macinarium or AH, then you might want to play as them.

The comment you went off on contradicting me at said clear as day he wouldn't make any dent in the current leaderboards. Now you're going back on that using the "fun to play" argument. I seriously think you only read what you want to read. At any rate, I am still right. Useless to the leaderboard standings.

I may end up picking the Ultra Edition up, depending on the extras.

So basically, PC disk version gets Alien Hominid (probably in place of Josef), a Sound Test section AND Developer's Art?
Damn, I may just buy the game again.
Ultra Edition gets Alien Hominid in place of Headcrab (who is Steam-exclusive) It'll basically be a tangible D2D version with Alien Hominid and bonus features and Steam accessibility. However, I am curious as to how certain achievements and exclusive stages will work out with the slightly differing rosters. As well, I am sure that someone will try to hack together their Steam or Ultra Edition version to be able to use Alien Hominid and Headcrab, respectively. We'd have to see how airtight Tommy secured that.

You'd think that "STEAM EXCLUSIVE" is a big giveaway to that.

Obviously Headcrab won't be in the game, but who's to say Alien is who replaces him? Gooball still exists, ya know.

Right, but I'm simply stating that there is the potential that he is an entirely new extra character. While it is entirely possible that he will replace Headcrab as the 10 bandage character, it is also possible that he's simply an addition unlocked at a different point in time. It is the Ultra Edition after all, it could have totally extra content. This quote also supports what I'm saying:
"The game itself is basically the same as the one you've played on steam, but with one edition... Alien Hominid! (from the Behemoths Alien Hominid!)"
Note that they say nothing of excluded characters or the replacement of Headcrab or anything like that.

"Exclusive to the Ultra Edition... Alien Hominid"
Last time I checked, Alien Hominid was in the XBLA version as well, so that's not exclusivity.
Note that I am also comparing to the D2D version, which does not have the Headcrab.
