@bullexcrements This is what I mean by trivializing 7-15.  There isn't any danger at that point :-D.

I may make a video request thread.  Since I am quite the specialist when it comes to meat boy only runs :-D.

@Breakdown Hi other guy!  Ha ha.  Funny thing is, 7-7X still has to be in the beginning of my run because while the method we use is pretty awesome... I can't seem to get better than a 50% success rate.  Which means it has to stay within the first three levels of the run.  :-/.

IMPOSSIBLE BOY GET!!!

Check out the video!  Details regarding my run will refer to it :-D.

STATS:

17317 Deaths
96 Hours

===

7-7X: I used the tap right and jump technique here.  Credit to Zip_00 for that.

7-8X: It's just a matter of good timing.

7-9X: I used a mark just below the top of the salt mound to show me when to hold away from the conveyor belt.  I would look at the salt mound, trace the line to the conveyor belt's arrows and pick one as a reference.  When I got off of the belt, I was NOT holding the run button.  That would help keep me from going out of control.

7-1X: This is here because I'm bad at the saw jumps near the middle of the stage :-/.

7-19X: Walk, don't run.  It makes this so much easier!

7-20X: So long as I made the mini-saw jumps I was home free on this one :-D.

7-13X: The more I did this level, the worse I got at it, LoL.  It used to be the last level in the run, but I had to bump it up so that I didn't mess it up while nervous.

7-16X: My first reset is here.  I didn't time the first jump right.  But outside that, my consistency for this level is definitely accredited to bullexcrements.  Thanks a bunch!

7-5X: This was once the third to last level.  Until I lost while doing it.  So now it's here so that the end feels more "home free".  Just like the purple blob level in the Cotton Alley Light World, I just had a hard time doing this one under pressure.  It's not inherently hard.

7-6X: Extend the first wall slide as much as possible for great victory!

7-10X: Used to be near the end of the run too... but I lost a run here as well.  So I bumped it up.  Not that hard once you get the pattern down.

7-14X: If you stop on the platform before the key, then running through the key is OK.  Otherwise slipping off the key platform is likely.  I tried the walking method, but I would jump off the key platform and slide up the wall that housed the middle laser... and die.  After the key I jumped into the platform on the corner because I found if you stand on the platform just before that, the lasers sometimes clip you.  If you go to the corner, there's zero chance of them doing that.

7-15X: Not too hard, but the jumps to get to the waiting area have to be very very crisp, otherwise you won't make it in time.  I tried to do the multiple wall jump method (instead of sliding up like I did) and I just couldn't get that timing to work as consistently.

7-17X: That's the pattern I used, it's not too hard to pull off.  :-D

7-18X: I reset here.  It's the last time I reset too.  I didn't get the wall jump to work.  Anyways, the key here is to get them circling you.  If you can get the pattern working on small groups at a time (instead of herding them all at once), it's easier.  The run seems to get crazy at the end, but I had full control.  Weird, right?

7-2X: The transition is somewhat difficult at first.  But outside that, it's patience and good timing.

7-3X: I pretty much know I'm home free at this point.

7-4X: I like this pattern, the jumping rhythm is pretty consistent.

7-11X: Easier than my first pass of this.  I was worried about this at first, but once I got it down, my consistency reached better than 95%.

7-12X: To me, this felt like the victory lap.  This level is very easy.  I passed it the first time I ever tried the Cotton Alley Dark World, and I do not believe I have ever died here.  It was all about keeping calm and getting my achievement!

=============
=============

That's all folks!  I hope you enjoyed all the meaty goodness!  If people express interest, I may re-do some of the other runs using all meat boy.  I'll also do videos for certain levels if anyone wants any visual tips on how I did any of the runs.

Until then.  I'm done!  I *might* speed run a bit, but for me this achievement is pretty much the pinnacle meaty goodness :-D.

All the best,

Tuen

You... you got... y-you got Impossible Boy.

Congratulations my friend, you deserve all those hard earned Iron Boy achievements. Getting them alone is quite an accomplishment, but to get them all using Meat Boy/Bandage Girl...

As for me... I haven't forgotten about Brimstone Boy just yet...

Yay, I just got Needle Boy. Meat Boy I know that isn't much compared to newly-achieved godliness but I haven't even beat the Dark World yet. So, now my Iron Boy chart stands like this:

Key:
Meat Boy = Got it.
= I'll try this next.
= Maybe once I've got a few more.
= Not anytime soon, but eventually.
= Hell no. Hell. No.
= I haven't even finished this chapter yet...
= I haven't even fully unlocked this chapter yet...

                       Forest / Hospital / Factory /   Hell   / Rapture / The End / Cotton Alley
Light World:      Meat Boy    /     Meat Boy     /        /      /        /           /
 Dark World:          /         /        /      /        /           /

Congratulations on Impossible Boy Tuen! It's nice to once again see that it's name isn't quite true and that it is in fact, quite possible! Entertaining video, as all no-death runs always are, but once again, I noticed a few routes I had never seen before in some of those levels and that is always eye-opening (and possibly something to keep in mind if I end up trying it, not quite there yet though!).

Ok I lied, I just got Demon Boy! It was slowly consuming a piece of my soul but it is done! Pheeew!

I just had to have my Meat Boy fix and since the editor and portal still isn't here, that could only mean one thing, get to work on Demon Boy! I started seriously trying it last weekend and after some fairly mighty struggles, practice won out and I was able to complete the run at last. This was pretty draining, and after a while I almost regretted starting it since there are probably 3-4 levels in this set that are well, to live up to the achievement's name, demonicly, devilishly, deviously, difficult!

However they all have their tricks, in some cases, it was really just practice. The jumps right at the start of Imperial and Wicked One can be real run killers so I put them early, along with Char due to it's chaotic nature, followed by Beholder and Thistle (although for whatever reason Thistle was always a level I never had much of a problem with) due to their relative danger. Bone Yard is annoying but after a while I figured out how to manipulate the maws and complete it in an "exact" way making it much easier than I initially felt. Starless, I remember a bunch of people complaining about this one including myself but honestly after some practice I found it one of the easiest levels in the set, fast paced yes, but "exact" once you know what you're doing.

Viridian is handy in a good chuck of the levels but he doesn't quite "break" them like he did in CH4 Light, you still need to pull off some tricky maneuvers if you want to use him. Ogmo (easy to forget about him sometimes) is actually very good in Golgotha and Wicked One, I would use him over the Kid for those two, Ogmo's double jump can often be better in situations where you are mostly trying to go horizontal instead of vertical.

In the end the order almost didn't matter, I was so damn practiced that even the levels I dreaded I could blow through as long as I didn't think about how far along in the run I was. So in the words of an old math teacher of mine, "Don't think, just do!"

If I ever post about how I'm starting Zombie, Girl, or Impossible Boy, please talk me out of it!

This sir, is a bullshit. Everyone wants to get these ones, so everyone just tries to pull them off. And if you'll try to get Girl Boy, you'll soon realize, that it's much easier than Missle/Demon Boy (well, Cotton Alley for sure, Zombie is most anoying to get imo :))

EDIT: I'll go even further than that. I can bet, that you will get Girl Boy before level editor release if you'll start practicing from tomorrow or monday.
