Quick question. Are the people doing well on these really using the controller? I only have a keyboard and I know I CAN get Forest Boy for sure, but I always choke at the last three levels. That's how I learned that you can't just beat all but one, then come back to that one later. Oh, and do you have to win with Meat Boy, or can you use anyone? If you use anyone, can you switch characters in-level?

People have gotten 100% achievements with both, it really boils down to preference.
Yes, you can use anyone (except Steve and Meat Ninja) and you can switch characters as much as you want. Note that switching characters in a level can also be used to avoid death.

That's how I learned that you can't just beat all but one, then come back to that one later. You can. You can do the levels in any order, hell, you could do them in reverse order if you wanted to. But as for the main point of your post, what cntrol method you shuold use is entriely down to preference. I mean, I used keyboard since I first got Super Meat Boy but I'm just as good with controller and I still use keyboard.

Are you THAT bad ? I got Needle Boy with a keyboard easily and Wood Boy on my first try.

Are you THAT bad ? I got Needle Boy with a keyboard easily and Wood Boy on my first try. It's called CHOKING because it's a sudden drop from average skill level. I just think too much to consciously aim for achievements. I've almost gotten Forest Boy inadvertantly several times, in retrospect. Plus, I haven't played in a while. Computer self-destructed, had to get a new one, blah, blah, blah.

Then begin by the later levels and finish by the first ones.

This is pretty much correct. If you start with the levels you consider difficult then you should be OK. This works because that drop in skill you experience from nervousness will more heavily effect levels that you consider difficult. In my experience, placing levels that you pass 70% of the time at the end of a run can drop it pass percentage to 40-50%. This is opposed to placing a level you pass 95% of the time and having it drop to a 90% pass rate. So yeah, pretty much, abusing the level order is the best thing ever. I didn't figure this out until Missile Boy :-/.

Got Dead Boy just now actually. Man, I always disliked the Iron Boy achievements, but I really dislike them now. What a bunch of pricks. The level order I did was 5-4-2-3-1. I hate 2 more than anything, but I died most often on 4, so this was the best order for me. 3 and 1 are both very easy, you could probably do 3 last with no worries.
Horror story: ON MY FIRST ATTEMPT I DIED TO THE VERY LAST SAW ON 6-1. I really felt like quitting then. I got the achievement 15 minutes later though.
A few tips that I could give you:
6-5: Don't be a hero and don't be a speedrunner. If you try to speedrun the final part (the part that looks like the first part of 7-20) you'll probably die. Also, in the middle with a big saw to the left and 2 tiny saws on the right, jump onto the tiny platform below the bottom-right saw, then walljump over it. This way you can make this jump flawlessly every time. The part right after that, there's a tiny block on the floor to the left and another of those saw gates upper-right. Run against the tiny block, then just walljump 2 times and you'll always make it through the saws.
6-4: Take your time on those first 5 rotating saws because they are the hardest. There are plenty of safe spots and it's okay to wait a full rotation of the big last one, you have plenty of time. The rest should be easy.
6-3, 6-2: Exit to map immediately if you fall. The saws here shouldn't bother you, but falling and dying will probably annoy you a lot.
6-1: This should be cake, but still, take your time. You can run off the middle platform without jumping to get to the key on the right.
What I really dislike is that after doing all this, these The End levels don't feel difficult anymore. I got them down in my memory and I will never enjoy their difficulty again like I used to. This worries me greatly and I hope I'll feel better about them after a good night of sleep.

(I'm not necessarily saying that should be your next run, but hey, you want challenge, there's a dark version of those levels just waiting for ya to run)

Oh gosh. Brimstone Boy is taunting me! A couple posts back, I told everybody I was kinda OCD on Iron Boy runs, and that I wasn't doing any more until Meat Boy came back. Now he is. Brimstone Boy is still pretty tricky, though. I'm assuming my run will be very segmented, because of the large amount of levels where it's easy to die on. There are some levels I've mastered pretty quickly, like Heck Hole, Boris, and Abbadon, and some I still have trouble on, like The Hive and Bow. Well... this one's all over the place. I've also looked at Dark The End for getting Dr. Fetus Boy, but that's just a pipe dream at this point. It is amzing, I might add, how easy No Quarter got when I did it as my final level for Golden God. I'm confident it might not give me that much trouble when I go for the next run.

Hey 1st post here, thank you for this topic, was a great help for some levels ! (Tuen's post & others users' youtube videos). Until the fix of count completed levels in SMW isn't working, i wanted to try these no-death runs. They are the only achievements i missed, well, here is my legend : = I get it! = Get it and pretty hard! = Makes me RAGEEEEEEEEEE . = Will try to get this! = Yeah, well, maybe one day o/ Forest / Hospital / Factory / Hell / Rapture / The End / Cotton AlleyLight World: / / / / / / Dark World: / / / / / / Story of my life : yesterday, working on my Maggot Boy ... Learning my route (15>14>11-13>16-20>1-10) ... and finally hit the last level (5-10). I take my time, all mobs dead, i run to bandage girl, slide up the wall ... a little too much and hit the upper saw on jump I almost ragequit, but i can't let this achievement after a great run like this. Get it after this !

Hell to the Y, to the E-A-H. Brimstone Boy is finally mine! ...With pain. ( ) As always, the level order. The level I started with was Rickets, which really tested my imcompetence. That level is so easy to make stupid mistakes on (Levels 1-8 in general had a lot of stupid mistakes I had). I used Flywrench, but it really didn't seem to matter which character I used, as it was the first level anyway. 9-14 were all Viridian. I saved them for last, as they're easy because of Viridian's mad skillz. I also used him for Abaddon, level 15. I also tried to refrain from using the Kid at all, so other than 9-15, and 18, which I used Jill for, this run was 100% pure meat. Thankfully, there were no horror stories of any kind on this run (The farthest I went while dying was 3-8, 15-20, then a death on Boilermaker), no bad breaks of any kind, just practice, practice, practice. And meat. Always can't forget about the meat. Fresh Meat. KEY: = I got it! = I got it, but it gave me some trouble. = This is one I'm working on. Right Now. = I may get this one in the future, but not right now... = Oh my godnez, I might try for this one in the future, but it's gonna take a long time... Forest / Hospital / Factory / Hell / Rapture / The End / Cotton AlleyLight World: / / / / / / Dark World: / / / / / / My advice? Concentrate, be futile, and take it reeeeeeeeeaaaal slow. Dr. Fetus Boy, here I come (More on that later)!

= Done, and was relatively easy = Got it, but it gave me some trouble = This is next for me. Pretty sure I can get it = I think I can do this, but its gonna be rough = I will make an attempt, but I doubt I'm good enough. = Oh no way. No freaking way. Forest / Hospital / Factory / Hell / Rapture / The End / Cotton AlleyLight World: / / / / / / Dark World: / / / / / / Squirrel Boy was giving me some trouble until I realized I could use Veridian for Mystery Spot, thus solving that last jump with no trouble. After that it was pie. It seems a little weird how easy Dr Fetus Boy feels like it will be to me compare to Missile Boy or Hell Dark World (Zombie? Demon? I can't remember) to me. Maybe thats because thats what I'm currently working on beating for the first time - only No Quarter left. It's only 5 levels and frankly, once you get the hang of it Maze of Ith is pretty easy and, while I died alot on From Beyond, I was drunk on Scotch at the time and it seems liek I think I can make it reliably doable with practice. Detox and/or No Quarter will probably be the first levels in my order just because I really suck at the very beginning of Detox. That said, first thing is Dead Boy. Then we'll see.

^My problem with The End Dark World is that exactly the same spots are killer as in the Light World, but the levels are harder and longer overall, so you're more likely to die on easier parts. For level order, I would do an alcohol test first, then 5-4-2-1-3 or 5-4-2-3-1.

Let's see. Forest / Hospital / Factory / Hell / Rapture / The End / Cotton AlleyLight World: / / / / / / Dark World: / / / / / / = Not really problematic. = Took a while and some concentration. = Going to try those. = Well...if I got all the other ones, eh. Just got Dr Fetus Boy today. Boatloads of silly deaths, I tell you. Got in in 5-1-2-3-4-5 order. Yeah, that's two fives. I did No Quarter again right after getting the achievement just to spite the game. Next up is Blood Clot Boy. After that Missile Boy or Girl Boy, not sure.
